"Oi, Captain, it's going to be very stormy!"
"Laurence, lower the masts!"
"Aye, sir!"
I sighed. I looked up ahead to the puffy storm clouds.
"Dad, are you gonna be okay?!" Abby looked up at me with hopeful green eyes. I smiled and hugged her. I couldn't bring myself to tell her maybe... we wouldn't make it.
The boat thrashed around in the water. The storm got worse. "HOLD ON!" It was no use, the ship sunk.
I woke up to see a face with cyan eyes looking back at me. "EEeeep!" she screamed and jumped in the water. I just noticed the island I washed up on. It was small with a palm tree on it. The girl looked up at me curiously. "Hey, Thanks for saving me." I showed a small wave.
"H-hi, I-i'm K-Katelyn."
"Jeffory."
"W-why are you h-here?"
"Shipwrecked."
"O-oh, sorry for asking."
"S'alright."
"Where were you going to go?"
"Eh. Hey! Get out of the water, you can drown."
"You can be very kind-hearted, but I don't want to."
"Why?"
She sighed as she slowly submerged out of the water as her tail came to show. "I don't want to be captured." I stuck out my arm to shake. "I won't catch you." Slowly and cautiously, she took my hand and shook it. She smiled.
"Oi captain, there you are!" Laurance appeared behind the island. Katelyn jumped in the water.
"Wait!"
She gave a reassuring smile and left. A note on the shore was left.
I'll be back!
~Katelyn
And I couldn't wait for that very day.
