"Dispose of him."

Zane's words were like icicles, stabbing the air with cold and psychotic laughs. It sent shivers up my spine. I wanted to know who was behind that door, though.

I ducked behind a corner, Zane's laugh ringing in my ears.

"Mr. Golden Heart ain't gonna have a heart no more!"

Wait. Who exactly was behind that door?

A young boy, slightly older than me, was being dragged across, leaving trails of blood. His brown locks covered his face. He donned green and grey armour which was all too familiar. He didn't see me. Nobody did. I  followed the gang outside. Nobody ever notices me.

They dragged him into an alleyway where more bodies were stored to line up for incineration or burial. I saw a corpse that I killed a few days ago being tossed away into the incinerator.

Once the guards were gone, I approached the brunette. I didn't want to believe it. He looked up, green orbs shining.

"H-hey. I-I knew you would come f-for m-me."

"Come on! Let's save you! We can run off together like we planned in guard school!"

"I-I can't be saved."

"NO, you can still be saved! You promised."

"It's t-too late. Katelyn?"

"Yeah?"

"I hope I can say this before my death. Take care of her. Take care of yourself.  I lo-"

"JEFFORY!! JEFFORY THE GOLDEN HEART, DONT YOU DARE DIE ON ME!!!!"

I shook him and shook him. He finally curled his lips into a smile.

"Katelyn, did you...like me?"

"Loved you."

"Stay by me. Promise?"

"Promise."

"I loved you, as well."

His body went limp, his blood in my hands. I couldn't help it. I cried. Stay by me. I smiled. I kissed him on the lips. I stabbed myself in the process.

"Hey! Look at these bodies."

"Bury 'em together."

So, we were buried together, in the same position. Little did they know, I was still alive, breathing air into him and sacrificing my blood. It was worth it, for him. "Katelyn, no!" Those green eyes were the last things I saw. For he was alive and I was dead.

For him.
