Sounds Good Feels Good Pt.1

This is going to be my opinion, reaction, and what I think is the meaning of this album. 

Money

I don't fully understand the meaning of this song, when I first heard it though, it sounded really catchy, it's a very upbeat and happy song as well, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. It's not one of my personal favorites but it's a good song. 

She's Kinda Hot

The beginning is like, oh another one of THESE songs. But it has more meaning than the title portrays. (Fancy words kids this is serious). "They say we're losers and we're alright with that" indicated its about outcasts, and rejects (dat reference doe). And it tells small stories. Like the kid who left college cause it felt like a job. This song was the song that created what 5sos calls, "The New Broken Scene". Which is their own little community of outcasts. 

Hey Everybody

This song like She's Kinda Hot is very popular, and if you have seen the music video(holy hotdog Michael) than you can see that it is people struggling with jobs. Like poor Michael waving a hotdog sign that no one cares about. And the chorus saying that they don't have to live this way anymore, and that they do have a chance. (Michael gets his own hotdog food truck guys) 

Permanent Vacation

This one is really good. My reaction was a lot, originally I knew about it before the album came out, because they put the live version on YouTube. But the first line "you say that I'm too complicated". Implying possible insults, or bad relationship. The next line being "hung up and miseducated", which is another insult, the chorus being multiple adjectives that describe how they are feeling, "frustration, desperation, say I need some kind of medication" which also implies to a bad relationshipE. When Michael comes in and says "Congradulations, you imitations, are taking over the radio stations, corporations, calculations, we're the voices of the new generation." In reality, some of their songs are like the voices of the new generation, with music nowadays not having much..real meaning. (Nicki,  Ariana, 1D, *cough* Selena, *cough* Miley.) 

Jet Black  Heart

As you should know, I love this song, and the lyrics are amazing. The mistakes and struggles you have in life, and your inner demons not really helping you. Life is breaking, I would like to call this *cough* puberty *cough*. but, "Can you see inside?" Is the real question, sometimes we don't feel understood, but in reality, they don't see what hides underneath the surface. That's where the Jet Black Heart comes in. Because maybe you're just wanting to break free, and there's that hurricane wanting to escape, but these chemicals moving between you, is preventing that. 

Catch Fire 

All your life you've been waiting for these moments to come, when you will finally break free (catch fire). But it's not always easy, obstacles and challenges stand in your way. And you are trying to find out who you really are inside, because maybe you don't feel right. And there's that person or thing, that constantly motivates you. And you might be trying to persuade someone, but it's not easy either. You might be unable to, as you are broken, or alone, and it's surreal. (Play on real lyrics). This love you might have with whatever, it's broken, and you are attempting to fix it, and change their mind. It's broken love. In the first degree. 

Safety Pin

Young people, sometimes even trying to run from life, because they think they are unwanted. But they find that special person that they can relate to, and so they try to fix their broken hearts together, from past incidents. The broken boy, or broken girl, who you feel as you have a connection with. But in the end, you know there is no more waiting, because you can save yourself from falling. And people doubt you, and you do things that you might regret because of that, people think you are twisted, your middle finger sticks up. (According to the song). But, we will Safety Pin the pieces of, our broken hearts, back together. 

Waste The Night

It's almost as you need that person, it's addicting to be around them, and you "need their love". It makes you happy, but mistakes are made, and time is limited. You don't want to make those mistakes again, and you want to treasure the time you do have, and not waste it, you don't want to have to say goodbye to another night. Let that person go, you want to keep them special to you. 

Anyway, this album has 17 songs..so umm I'll get into the branch of sad songs next time. Remember this is my opinion, and my understanding of the songs, anyone could have a different interpretation. Anyway, song of the day is your choice of these.
