Chapter 15

Austin's POV

I sat at an old tree stump kicking rocks with my head leaning on my hand. I hear leaves crunching and I look up to see Jason.

"Hey little brother." Jason says

"Hey big brother. How long have you been here?" I ask

"I got in last night...why does it look like you lost your best friend?" Jason asks

"Maxine declared that I use condoms or no sex." I say remembering the painful memory that happened three hours ago...

Jason starts to laugh before taking a seat next to me.

"You were always the wild one." Jason says chuckling

"You were always the dweeb big brother that caught onto all my plans! All that fun that I was about to have until you catch me!" I say laughing

"Well Maxine caught you this time" I say

"Yeah man.." I say throwing another rock

"But dude what are you going to do about the other baby?" Jason asks

"I don't know yet..I don't want Maxine to get too
attached to him and then have to give him back." I say knowing how Maxine gets attached to babies

"But, the baby isn't human and he isn't werewolf." I say

"What does he smell like?" Jason asks

"I don't know how to describe it...follow me."

We walk to my house and walk in to Maxine with the baby.

"Hey Jason." Maxine says with a smile

"H-hey Ma--Maxine." Jason stutters

"You want to see Joe?" Maxine asks

"Ye-yes please." Jason murmurs

Maxine passes Joe to him and Jason starts studying him.

"He's a shapeshifter." Jason says

"How can you tell?" I ask

"He has the spots on the back of his ear...he can be a great asset. But then again shape-shifters haven't been seen for two hundred years..." Jason says

"So how did they get Joe? Where did he come from?" Maxine asks

"I don't know but I do know that Jason has to have special care when he gets older. Someone will have to train him." Jason says

"But aren't his parents worried about him?" Maxine asks

"My guess is demons got ahold of him so his parents or wherever he came from...they're long dead....." Jason says

Maxine looks at me and at Joe with a sadness in her eyes. I hate seeing her like that...

Jason hands Joe back to Maxine who cuddles him close to her chest. Jason looks at me with a firm face and I nod my head.

"By the way where are my nieces and nephew? I'd like to take them somewhere so they won't be brute like you Austin." Jason says

"Have to fight mom for them." I say

"Very well, I declare war...see you guys on the flip side." Jason says and walks out.

I look over to Maxine to see her eyes watering.

"Baby what's wrong?" I ask as I take her and Joe in my arms

"Just the fucking thought of demons doing shit like that and Joe will never see his parents. Let's face it he'll feel left out when he gets older and he'll always wonder who he really is. I don't want him to go through that." Maxine cries

"Baby, as long as we're here he'll be just fine. Little man is already getting used to everyone. And don't worry about those demons; they suffered a worse fate." I say

*flashback to yesterday*

"Kill us then! We're not saying anything." One of the demons said

I smirk, they must think I wasn't going to kill them.

"No...I wasn't going to kill you. That'll take all the fun out now wouldn't it." I say as I sit in a chair across from.

I look at the table beside me at the holy water and bible along with various equipment.

"No. I think you guys need a little anointing to get y'all in the sprit." I say

None of the demons say anything.

Jackson wheels in a cart and smirks at me.

"So first off we're going to have a Friday service with reverend Austin and Pastor Jackson." Jackson says as he pulls out the bible

Jackson starts preaching verses which sounded fire and I started dousing them in holy water. When Jackson finished a verse I would grab a select tool and cut off one of there heads.

You see demons can survive with just their head because they're that creepy. So I would cut a head off and place it on the cart.

By the time Jackson was finished preaching some fire all of their heads were on the cart. We wheeled the cart in front of a small tv and put in a twenty four hour movie of people getting saved. They immediately started to protest. Me and Jackson closed the basement door and walked home...
