Chapter 19

Maxine's POV

I re-apply a layer of lip balm before I hop out my new white jeep. That dealer was shady, he waited until everything went through before he said some slick shit. My daddy solved that though by putting him in his place. I look at Austin pull up behind me with the truck. We're coming back later to get his jeep which I know he's eager to get.

I watch Austin get out out the truck and run his hands through his blonde hair. I felt my stomach flip as he looked back at me and smiled. He probably smells my arousal. I get out and hug him from the back.

"That jeep isn't the only thing about to get driven to home base." Austin whispers

We were infront of the girl's school about to pick them up. Austin holds my hand as we walk into the school. I go into Sam's class to be playing with another mixed girl. They both looked up and Sam ran towards me.

"Mommy! You're here early." Sam says

"Me and daddy got something that couldnt wait." I say besides the girls only had thirty minutes of school left.

"Mommy also this is my friend Charlene" Sam says

"Hi Charlene." I say

Charlene mumbled a hey before telling Sam she'll see her later. Charlene was pretty; straight honey brown hair with green eyes but she smelled like she was from a pack.

Sam and I go to Victoria's class to see her bossing around a group of girls.

"No Bree, are you crazy? This is how you're supposed to do it!" Victoria said

"Vicky" Austin called out

"Dad! Thank god ya'll are coming to get me. These girls don't want to listen" Victoria said

I chuckle as Victoria goes off to get her stuff. As soon as Victoria walks away, her teacher slithers her way over to us.

"Hey, it's so nice to see you again Austin. Maxine" This bitch said

"Hold up, all he does is drop of his daughter." I say

"Well he came in this morning and stayed a little longer than usual." She says

"That's it hoe-" I say as I try to lunge at the bitch but Austin held me back

"I think you're getting out of hand, especially for a school teacher." Austin says

"Let me find you out here in these streets and we'll see if you about that action." I say as Austin carries me out that classroom.

We finally get outside; thank the lord. I unlock the jeep and the girls get giddy.

"Mom, this is fresh to death." Victoria says

"Daddy has one too." I say

"Dad we have to go mudding." Sam says

"Oh yeah! With the doors off." Austin says

The girls hop in with me and we drop the truck home and pick up Xavier. Joe was still asleep so I deciced to leave him there.

We pull up at the dealership and Austin hops out to get the jeep. It wasn't need and also dangerous for me to get out. Austin pulls in behind me and of course Xavier gets out to join Austin and so does Sam. It was just me and mini-me in the car so we decided to go shopping! At least I have one girly girl.

Me and Victoria pull up at the mall and we dart to one of her favorite stores.

"Mom, Bella said she was the best dresser so Wednesday we're having a dress off and I need to win." Victoria said

"Well we can't let Bella win. We have to find an outfit that'll bling" I say

We go through the whole store and at the end she put together this cute outfit (with my help). It was a floral skater skirt with a pink top that said princess and a sheer blue top to go under it. We styled it with a matching choker and headband. She was going to look so cute!

I also picked out some shirts for Sam. She's not that picky she just doesn't like to wear "girly" tops. She's a tom boy no thanks to Austin. Before Xavier came, Austin treated her a boy and still does.

We leave the store and go to a baby store to pick out some clothes for Joe. He doesn't have that many clothes. Vicky helps me pick out a some outfits and I get some sleeping clothes for him.

We leave the mall a little over the expected time. Alot of money was spent today so it's going to be tight for a while. We head back home to Austin and the kids gone so I go get Joe. Joe was playing on this play mat at the pack house while a female pack member watched him.

"Luna can I talk to you." She said. Her name was Sue

"What's up?" I ask her

"Well, today I left Joe on his play mat so I can go fix his bottle.." She starts off

"Yes what else." I ease on

" I came back and there was a small bunny on the matt then I seen him change back. I couldn't belive it. I seen him change into a Bunny. I belive it was because his toy was a bunny that's what he wanted to change into but my guess is he's a shapeshifter." The girl says

I could tell he wasn't human but I couldn't tell what. I had so many questions that I know couldn't be answered. Shapeshifters are rare for many were killed over time. Did the demons know he was a shapeshifter?

"Also Luna. I took him outside where we saw a deer and he changed into one. Luna, this child is going to be special." She said

I look at Joe's green eyes as he looked in mine. At that moment I knew I had to protect this child's life no matter the cost.
