LEXY

Since going for coffee with Wade we talk everyday and have made quite a few plans to go places. Even though it's only been a week Wade is indeed a breath of fresh air. Today I was going away for two days with him to watch his team play. Getting the time off from work was so hard but luckily I was owed a favour so I called it in. Just as I put my stuff in my car I heard someone calling my name.

"So you don't know me no more nah Lexy?" Brent said.

"Brent? What are you doing here?"

"Well I came to check on you because I haven't heard from you or seen you."

"I'm fine Brent. I've just been busy." I said.

"So where you going?"

"Why are you asking me all these questions? I'm going out."

"Okay Lexy. I see how it is. When the new guy fucks up you'll be back." He said as he walked off.

I just laughed. Brent fucked up hence why we were no longer together but he thinks that if someone else fucks up that I'll go back to him. How hilarious. The only reason I still fuck him is because I believe in the saying better the devil you know.

I jumped in my car and headed off to Wades house. When I got there I was in awe. It was HUGE! He had so much land around his house. He could build at least four houses the size of his. It made sense why it took me two minutes to get here from the front gate. I was greeted by a man who I assumed was valet. I thought this stuff was only ever in movies. As I got out my car and handed him over my keys I had to warn him.

"Now... Just because it's not no fancy car; don't mean you don't take care of my baby. I am very protective over what's mine and would hate to have to do you any harm if you didn't take care." I said to him.

I was startled by laughter. I turned around and there Wade stood, looking even more handsome than the last time I saw him.

"Don't laugh. He needs to know."

"Don't worry, I'm sure he will take extra special care of your betsy."

"Ha ha ha, you stay calling my car betsy. It gets me around yeah." I said to him as he hugs me and takes my bag.

"Well don't worry because the next couple of days you won't be doing no driving." He said to me.

We walked in and he showed me around his six bedroom home. I was in awe. You could tell he was a man that took pride in having good things. It was very rare these days.

"This place is amazing. Never knew you could earn this much doing what you do."

"Oh my job never paid for this. Drug money did." He said.

I looked at him. He looked at me. Then he laughed.

"I know you're most probably expecting me to say I'm just joking. But I'm not. I always wanted to have a huge home and three cars. Drug money got me that. I guess with the job I do have it looks like it paid for it; but it didn't." He said.

I was shocked.

"Wow. So you're a drug dealer?"

"Was. I don't need to be anymore. My mother wants for nothing. My family is good. My job pays and I have everything I want... Well almost everything." He said and winked at me.

"How come you're telling me all this?"

"As I said. I keep it real. I tell the truth and I'm very outspoken with what I say and do. Plus, I wouldn't just say it to any and everyone. You ain't my girl but that's the aim, so why not? Least you can't say I lied or hid it from you." He said.

He had a point. It made me nervous that he was basically telling me I would be his. How did he know we would get on? We might not be compatible.

"I guess you have a point." Was all I could say.

"Listen Ima finish packing then we can grab a bite to eat before we head off to the hotel." He said and left me in his humongous living room.

My phone rang and I answered it. It was my mom.

"Hey mom."

"Hello Lexy." She said with a somewhat disapproving tone.

"Uh oh. What now?"

"Brent called me..." She said.

I rolled my eyes.

"Why does he even have your number?"

"Lexy that's not the point! The point is you are hurting that poor boy. Either you're with him or you're not. Stop stringing him along!" My mom said to me.

I had to laugh. This was just typical of my moms defending him. Yet she don't know what he done.

"You do know you're MY mom right? Not his!" I said to her.

"I see him as a son. Look, I would like some more grandchildren. Your sister has given me a grandson why don't you and Brent make it work so you lot can give me a granddaughter?"

"I was wondering how long it would have took you before Tina's name was mentioned. I'm not Tina. I don't want to be Tina. Unlike the both of you I have a backbone and know when to leave after your partner cheats on you!" I snapped.

I realised what I said after I said it.

"Right, so that's why you left him... Yeah, you're right. You have a backbone. Good on you." She said sounding upset.

My mom stayed with dad when he cheated on her. My sister is still with her husband and he cheats frequently. Not me. I couldn't stay with Brent so I didn't.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I never told you about Brent because I was embarrassed. But he cheated. I've told him I can't trust him so I could never go back out with him. He knows this. I'm not stringing him along. So please mom, stop listening to his lies."

"Oh you wait till he calls me again!" She said this time sounding annoyed.

"You ready?" Wade said as he came into the living room. I nodded my head.

"Look mom, I gotta go. Ima be out of town for a couple days. I'll come see you when I get back. Okay? Love you." I said before hanging up.

"Awww." Wade mocked.

"Shullup." I said making us both laugh.

"Cmon Miss Lexy, let me show you what I do when I'm out of town working." He said as we left his house and headed to the hotel...
