VANESSA

As I stepped into my house I felt at peace. My mom had been driving me mad. Kayden was at work so that also gave me time to tidy up the house how I wanted it. Once that was done I cooked a meal for us both. Then... I waited. Two hours later Kayden comes home. I was pleased because I was hungry.

"You're back then..." he said not sounding very bothered.

"Yeah. Go shower then eat; we need to talk."

Kayden did as he was told. At the dinner table we ate in silence.

Say something then Vanessa!

"I really don't know what you was thinking bringing Stacey back here. How would you feel if you came back and my ex was here?"

"Nothing happened it was nothing like that."

"You didn't answer my question."

"Well I would be pissed off."

"Exactly. To top it off you ain't even trying to tell me why she here. I came in with your arm around here consoling her because she was 'crying'."

"And like I said... nothing happened. I don't need to tell you why. I'm a grown man who has done nothing wrong. I've never cheated on you and I don't intend to. I don't know why you can't trust me."

"It's not about being a grown man. But if you bring her in our home and I ask why she here I deserve an answer."

"I can't even believe we still talking bout this."

"Excuse me?"

"Get over it Vanessa. Nothing happened. Okay I'm sorry I shouldn't have brought her here but I thought it would have looked worse me out and about with her."

"If you had just said before hand look I'm meeting with my ex.. nah scratch that. I don't see why you won't tell me what was so important y'all had to meet. It's making me feel like I can't trust you."

That was the truth. He was definitely hiding something I just don't know what.

"Can't trust me? Pssshh you the one who up and left! Where was you at?"

"Say what now? I was at my mama house. Don't try it Kayden."

"You say you was at yo mama house but how I know that?"

"Is that not what she told you every time you blew her phone up?"

"Yeah so? Moms lie for they kids."

"You on some real bullshit right now."

"Yeah I am. Thanks for the dinner. I'm out." He said as he got up from the table and left.

I was indeed shocked.

Did this nigga just walk out on me?

He was starting to give himself too many strikes and it wouldn't be long till he would be all out of lives. It was just before one in the morning and Kayden still wasn't home. I decided to go to bed and deal with it in the morning. The next day when I woke up, I woke up to just me in the bed. I got up and was surprised to see Kayden with a duvet chilling on the sofa.

"You slept out here?"

"Yup."

"Why?"

"Because I refuse to give you the option to put me out on the sofa, so I just went there myself."

Really?

"You sulking? You think you have a right to be sulking?"

"Man I ain't sulking I'm just tired of the bull Vanessa."

"What bull nigga? This is all on you!"

"EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS ON ME!! HOW MANY TIMES I GOTTA TELL YOU AIN'T NOTHING HAPPENED!! But you ain't tryna' hear me."

"You keep saying. Yet all this could be resolved if you just told me why she was here."

"I ain't telling you and the reason I ain't telling you is because you would be shocked then happy. Then you would have a whole different demeanour about you. But right now I'm seeing what's really real. Whilst you don't trust me and think something of nothing you showing yo true colours. It's cool doa. I'm going to shower. Cancel today and whilst we at it, as long as you don't trust me, we may as well cancel all Wednesdays." He said before getting up and walking off.

I was indeed shocked but after getting over him basically cancelling our weekly Wednesdays; I realised I wasn't actually that bothered.

I'm not bothered. I'm not bothered? Uh oh. I'm NOT bothered.

I was far from bothered. I was relieved. At this present moment in time I didn't want to be around him. If I was being truthful there was someone else who I would rather be around...
