Spending time with Byron and his nephew has proven more difficult than I anticipated. I'm very confident in this case that Micah won't serve no jail time and Byron will be able to be his legal guardian. However, seeing how he bonds with his nephew just reminds me of the good things Byron can do and why I liked him... loved him even at one point. What makes things worse is he isn't being disrespectful like the comedy show night. He's being polite. He's being nice and talking about what's going on with him and his family and I actually feel sorry for him. He's basically trying to hold everyone and everything together with only two hands.

"Are you sure Micah shouldn't be wearing a suit?" Byron asked as we finished up shopping for his court case.

"Nope. Micah is a child. A teen at that. Chinos, shirt and shoes is enough. The judges will think we are over trying; and think we're doing so because we want them to THINK, he's a good young person; instead of the fact that he IS a good young person."

"That... that makes sense."

"I know. That's why he's not going to go to jail."

"You really confident I'm not going to go jail Miss V?"

"Absolutely. The judge would have to be either a racist or having a bad day to find you guilty." I said to Micah.

He smiled.

"Aye unc, can we go to eat now? I'm starving."

"Yeah sure. You wanna come?"

"No no... I don't want to impose."

"Impose? Cmon Miss V.  You've taken good care of me and I appreciate it." Micah said.

"Awww. Well I'm just doing my job. I'm going to get going anyway. It's date night tonight. So I'll see you guys next week." I said.

I had been spending way too much time with Byron and Micah and I was starting to enjoy it way more than I should.

"Kai.. go ahead and order your food let me talk to Miss V real quick."

I laughed. I don't know why Micah decided to call me that but it's starting to grow on me.

"You thought more about what I said?"

"Byron..."

"Look, I'm not trying to pressure you but let's be honest. Since you've been helping out you've said yourself that this is the person you remember me to be."

"That doesn't mean I'm going to leave my man for you though..."

"You know for a fact! You wouldn't have taken this job if you didn't feel a thing for me. You ain't gotta admit it VeeVee but just know deep down in your heart, here is where you want to be." He said before kissing me on my forehead.

"Maybe in a different life. But I'm with Kayden and I'm happy. Just be happy for me please Byron. Be my friend. You've always been a good friend to me. Whenever we try anything more that's when it doesn't work. So what does that tell you?"

"That all those other times wasn't the right time but now is..."

"No."
