3rd Person
Skulduggery walk down slippery, stone steps with ease. He just wanted to know if October's okay. His baby girl. If he had a heart, it would be beating out of his chest. The basement was separated into rooms. Many rooms. The last step attached to the inly corridor in the whole building. Every door was wooden, all rotten, but there was one metal door right at the far end of the corridor. He looked into the first room. There was a rotten desk, a broken chair and damp, torn papers. This building housed many pieces of paper. Skulduggery searched the desk, looking for anything, all he found what he thought was useful was a set if keys. He took and pocketed them, maybe the metal door was locked. Every other room was useless. All he found was a few vials and needles. He kept those for Professor Grouse for testing.

Here it was. The final door. The metal door. The skeleton detective was nervous. Scared and anxious and nervous and desperate. He was desperate fir October to be alive, even after what he guessed was centuries of starvation and probably the most brutal torture experience anyone could have ever dreamed of. If October was alive, Skulduggery promised himself that he would pamper her. He would show her what love was again. He would make sure that she was safe. He was hold her. He would hold her in his arms until his bones broke. He would cuddle his baby girl.

After trying out almost every key, he was starting to lose hope. The last key better work. It did. Skulduggery pushed open the cold, heavy door and the poor girls head shot up, scared. Her body relaxed a little, but the look of sheer horror never left.

"Please tell me that you're going to help me. If you are, hurry. Serpine will try to kill me if he finds that someone else opened the door." October whimpered.

Skulduggery hurried to his daughter and undid the restraints that bound his daughter's magic. She felt her powers surge back into her. She gasped and collapsed. Skulduggery caught her and carried her up the grimy steps and into the sunlight. She was only wearing underwear. Skulduggery put her into the front seat and put his jacket over her.

"She can have this." Said Tanith giving Skulduggery her long brown coat.

Skulduggery puts the garment onto his weak daughter and does it up for her. October smiles at him as a thanks. Skulduggery got into the Bentley and they were off.

About halfway through the bumpy ride, October's curiosity got the best of her. Who were these people and why did they take her? "Excuse me?" She softly poked the skeleton-man-thing. He turned his skull.

"Yes? Are you okay?" He asks franticly.

"Peachy. There's nothing like being tied up and experimented on and tortured for a few centuries by the buffoon that murdered my mother and father... sorry." She said but stopped herself from going further.

"It's fine. Go on."

"Who are you guys?" October Pleasant asks.

Skulduggery Pleasant felt a tsunami of sadness drown him. He remained silent.

"I'm Tanith." Said the pretty blonde girl who had given October the coat. "This is Valkyrie, and that is Skulduggery."

October froze. "Skulduggery Pleasant?" She asked. "Impossible. Nefarian Serpine killed him and my mum and my reflection during the war against Mevolent. I was there, from a distance. Skulduggery, my father, was killed by Serpine's red right hand. It took three days to kill my dad. His body was burned for all to see."

"They threw his bones into a bag and into a river. He put himself back together. And here he is." Valkyrie, the girl in black says.

"Dad? Is this true...?" She hesitates. No. It can't be. "Prove it. Say something that only you, mum and I would know. Maybe Ghastly and Dexter too."

"On mine and your mother's wedding anniversary you would put on her wedding clothes and dance around out living room. It was really cute actually. You stopped doing it when you were 14, apparently you were too 'grown up' and 'old' for that." Skulduggery chuckled. "You're an Elemental. I was teaching you how to make a continuous stream of fire, and you accidentally killed Saracen's cat." October and Skulduggery laughed.

"I hated that damned cat." She replied.

"It wasn't even a cat. It was some sort of endangered species of monster." He laughed.

"I was known as the 'Species Ender' for a while. Saracen almost cried." October laughed.

"I'm pretty sure he did."
