"You have to tell her."
"no."
"And why the hell not, Hensley?" Julie spoke from her carseat, looking out at the window as Matthew glanced at her, before quickly averting his eyes back on the road.
"You're one to talk." Matthew snorted, taking a right turn as he recalled the way to Julie's house, which he had already memorized forwards and backwards like the back of his hand. "You still haven't told you're crush you liked him, and yet here you are, making it sound like its the easiest thing to do."
From the side of his eye he saw Julie's cheeks turn a light pink shade, and her posture to quickly stiffen, only to cause Matthew a slight smirk, and for Julie to slap his arm in irritation.
"Okay, fine, so Im a hypocrite who cares? But if you don't listen to me all I know is that the longer you wait, the harder it will be for you to tell her." And with that they arrived in front of Julie's home, or Matthew's second home if it was to be considered.
"Wow, you're feisty today, I dig it." Matthew joked, but the glare Julie gave him at the corner of his eye only made him sigh, halting his car and turning the engine off before he spoke again. "Look, I'll try but I wont guarantee it will work."
This brought Julie's smile to grow, looking very proud of Matthew before reaching over to give him a hug. "You better do it, Hensley. I'll see you tomorrow." She ruffled his hair, giving him a quick pat on the cheek before leaving the car and walking towards her house.
Matthew watched Julie enter her house, his gaze unreadable as Julie's words echoed through his head together with the words he's been yearning to come out of his mouth and onto the girl he knew he truly cared about.
Without another thought Matthew pulled out his phone from the pocket of his worn out jeans, ignoring all second thoughts before typing a message which said;
"hey I need to tell you something"
As he watched the message send he sighed, glancing back at the window he knew was Julie's room before starting the engine and driving off.
