"Okay I'll talk to you later, Julie."
Matthew hung up, throwing his phone onto the bed as he massaged his temples, which were currently throbbing in pain.
What was that? Matthew asked himself. Why did I suddenly snap like that?
Matthew groaned, frantically running his hands into his hair as he sat up from his bed.
Matthew was confused. He'd never acted like this before. And the weird feeling he had, it kept bothering him to no end. His feelings, how he was acting, him in general, confused Matthew.
For the hundredth time today, he shook the thought away, thinking nothing else before he grabbed his phone, texting the only person he knew he could talk to right now and sent her a message.
"Hey Ella I need your help."
just a few seconds after, he saw her message pop up on his screen.
"Whats up Mark?"
"I don't really know. I've been acting weird lately."
Matthew waited a few seconds before he received another reply.
"How so?"
Matthew asked himself the same thing. "I really don't know." Matthew typed "I've just started feeling weird ever since my best friend started dating this guy."
"Maybe you just feel the need to protect her more." Matthew read her text. "Its completely normal to feel that way, you've been friends with her for so long."
Matthew took a sigh in relief. It made complete sense in Matthew's head. Julie was just so important to him, maybe thats why he feels the need to be protective of her.
Suddenly he felt like a huge weight was lifted from his body.
"Yeah thats probably why." Matthew replied to her. "Thanks for helping me out."
"Anytime dude." Ella said, as they continued to once again casually talk to each other for hours.
