It was currently a Tuesday afternoon, school has just ended and Matthew was sat in their usual lunch table with Penny, chewing on a packet of chips Matthew previously bought.

"Hey wheres Julie?" Matthew asked Penny, who was enjoying her salad, smiling down at the phone on her lap.

Penny glanced at Matthew, letting out a giggle before she spoke "She went to The Vintage Flavor. She's skipping our hang-out today." Penny said in a high pitched voice.

"Really? Why?" Matthew asked her, grabbing another chip and popping it in his mouth.

Julie was always the first in their table after her last class was dismissed, the only times she had missed their usual hang-out was if she had a group project, or if there was an urgent emergency, both of which barely occurred.

"Was there an emergency or something?" Matthew asked once again, genuinely worried for his friend.

"No, silly." Penny giggled in reply. "She's on a date right now."

"Really?" Matthew said, more curious than ever. "With who?"

"An incredibly handsome and charming fellow who is an expert in sweeping girls of their feet." Penny wiggled her brows, knowingly. "His name is Noah."

There was a shot in his heart. "O-oh" Matthew silently replied, as Penny went on to tell him all about Noah and how he was so perfect for Julie.

Matthew wasn't sure of it, but a feeling in his chest seemed to grow as he listened to Penny ramble on about Noah, a feeling which almost imitated the feeling of... pain. But he thought nothing of it. He shouldn't be hurt, why would he be? There was absolutely nothing wrong.
