Jiley: why me?

New family

Riley's PoV

We arrive at the restaurant we were at when I first came. It's makes me think they want me to be apart of the family. We walk through the doors and the whole Torjiman family is there. My eye widen slightly, this is my new family. I see a Fairly familiar face.
"Chloe?" I'm pretty sure that's Chloe papas
"Riles what are you doing here?" She says brining me into a warm hug.
"Well this is the new family, why are you here?"
"Too meet new family" she says smiling brightly. We both smile at each other then are eyes widen at the same time.
"Wait, your family with the Torjimans?"
"Yeah, your the new family" she says looking as if she's thinking. She then bursts out into so much joy.
"We're cousins then, oh riles this is going to be so much fun!" She says jumping up and down like a 3 year old on Christmas Day. I giggle, I guess this new family of mine isn't too shabby after all.

I've not really talked to much of the family but Chloe and her parents because I already know then. Chloes mum always acted as a motherly figure to me. She gave me boy advice and what to do when Emily and her minions act like they well there cruel usual selfs to me. Everyone eats meat except me. They all either order a dish with fish or steak in it. The waitress then comes up to me and I order the same thing I had on the first night. The trusty vegan chicken salad. Everyone stares at me.
"Dear you know that is vegan right?" James uncle Isaac asks
"Em.. Yeah I'm vegetarian" I say smiling awkwardly. Everyone then looks away and gets back to their own conversations. Wow. Deborah smiles at me then look away and talks to David and his mother again. Everyone seems to be talking but me.
"Deborah?"
"Yeah sweetie"
"I'm just going to the toilet" I say getting up and walking to the toilet.

I look at myself in the mirror. Right Riley you go back in there and be confident, let everyone know your here to stay. I shake my hands a little to get rid of my nerves and head right back out. I take my seat and turn to my right and see James talking to some boy which I assume is his cousin. James looks at me and smiles moving back a little so I could get in on there conversation.
"I'm Riley" I say holding out my hand.
"Jake, no need for the hand I'm only your cousin" I smile
"Sorry" I say shacking my head. Ugh Riley get it together.
"So finally we have a vegetarian in the family"
"Yeah, I have been since I was 5"
"What got you into it?" James asks
"I've always wanted to be a vet, saving animals lives rather than killing them"
"Wow, no one ever does stuff like that in our family eh James" Jake hits James arms. James seems to be staring at me, I just smile.
"Well I'm obviously one of a kind" I say laughing. Maybe tonight isn't going to be as bad as I thought.

Are dinner arrived and everyone is drinking alcohol except me and the young children. I've had a chat with most people and everyone is either big office men or work in fashion design like Deborah and David. Everyone seems to be the same except this one boy Lewis he's just joined a national hockey team. I mean wow he just achieved something you wouldn't think was possible in this family. Chloes staying over tonight. Deborah saw how well we got along and suggested it and before I could answer Chloe was jumping up and down saying yes.

Dinner is over and it wasn't such a disaster. After I had given myself that little prep talk in the toilets everyone seemed to like me and I wasn't so awkward. I think I like this new family of mine.
