Sleepover

Riley's PoV

We're home now and Chloe is staying. I still can't believe we're cousins now. Chloe just came straight to ours and her mum is going. To drop a overnight bag off soon for her. I've always loved her mum, she is just so motherly doesn't seem to care what's happening unless everyone around her is happy.

I take Chloe up to my room and she is a bit taken back.
"Wow they did something amazing to this room" she mumbles
"What do you mean?"
"It used to be an office for David no one was aloud in or out but him and his office friends, I'm surprised he let anyone touch it" she says taking in her surroundings. Maybe that's why he has always been different around me. I took something he loved so much away from him. Maybe I should apologise, talk to him about it. Yeah I think I'm going to do that.
"I'll be right back Chloe" I say, she nods as I leave the room.

I walk down stairs to see David and Deborah sitting on the couch together. Deborah smiles at me before putting her attention back on David.
"David.." I say I came out more as a question.
"What is it?"
"Could I talk to you for a minute?" He doesn't seem so happy that I'm talking to him.

He walks into the kitchen and grabs a beer out the fridge.
"Make it quick"
"I just wanted to apologise" I say
"For what?" He asks confused
"Taking something you love away from you"
"You better of not touched my stuff, I swear to god if you have" he says tightening his grip on his bottle.
"No, Chloe told me about your office. I'm sorry,
She told me how much you loved it. It seemed like it was your get away" he just stares blankly at me. Like I know something.
"I had a get away back in the house, it was the attic I'd sit there and think. Until more people came it got converted into a bedroom and well the only other place I had was the spot" he looks at me and raises a brow.
"That's nice can I go back to my wife now" I gulp hard. I just nodded, I basically poured my heart and soul into what I told him and he didn't care one bit. I feel tears build up in my eyes. I hold them back and feel a tap on my shoulder.
"Are you ok darling?" Deborah of course
"Yeah, I think I want to be alone tonight though is it ok if Chloe goes home. I just miss my old family" she frowns a bit and hugs me.
"Yeah I'll call her mother and tell her to pick her up, don't worry you can always visit them" I nod and head back upstairs.

I walk into my room and see Chloe frowning.
"I heard" I feel bad, I know she wanted this sleepover so badly.
"I'm sorry" I say
"I understand, I saw how David treated you and you need time to understand and realise what's happening right now" she smiles softly at me.
"Yeah"
"I'm always here if you need to talk, bye riles" she says hugging me and leaving. So much for a sleepover then. I think it's best if I'm alone right now anyway. I go into the bathroom and wipe my make up off. Put my Pyjamas on and jump into bed. The door creaks open and he's standing there smiling softly at me.
"You never told me your story remember" I smile shaking my head and tapping the bed for him to sit. This is going to be a long night.

A/N

Hey guys hope you liked the chapter I'm not so sure on it. David is really showing his true colours in this chapter and will become more of a main character in a few chapters ahead.
