Jiley: why me?

The new girl

Riley's PoV

I walk into home room and everyone stares at me. Remember smiley, confident Riley. I walk up to the teacher. She's a middle aged women and look a little grumpy.
"Hi I'm Riley Raymond" she looks at me and raises her brows.
"Have I seen you before" she says looking me up and down.
"No, I'm new" I say keeping a smile on my face. God this is awkward.
"Well I'm miss Clark, nice to meet you take a seat next to..." She scans the room.
"Michelle" I smile and walk over to the skinny, blonde.

I take my seat next to Michelle. Being the new girl isn't as fun as you think. I need to come across as a nice, confident, not adopted teenager.
"Hi I'm Riley" I say putting my hand out.
"Yeah, I heard, Michelle" she shakes her hand.
She looks me up and down.
"So your one of those rich, preppy, prissy kids aren't you?"
"Excuse me but no, I'd cut a bitch" I say giving her a dirty look.
"Wow, didn't see that coming from you"
"Didn't expect a town to think I was, what was it 'prissy'. I'm anything but a goody too shoes"
She looks me up and down again.
"I like you Raymond"
"I like you too.." I don't actually know her last name.
"Baldessara" filling me in. I smile.

Today hasn't been too bad. I've made friends with this girl Thalia. She's head cheerleader, she told me to stay away from Michelle. Michelle is also in the cheer team but with out her consent. If she doesn't take part in some sort of team activity her parents are threatening to send her to boarding school. It's lunch and cheer tryouts are in 10 minutes. I'm walking through the old hall when suddenly I get dragged into the janitors closet. I get spun round to face him. James is standing right there and he does that god damn smirk that kills me every time. Our little encounter ended up to be a 5 minute make out session until I remember cheer tryouts shit! I quickly run down to the girls changing room. Hopefully I'm not late.
