Jiley: why me?

The big game

Riley's PoV

So today is the big day, it's the first game of the season, this game decides how your season is going to look. Obviously I'm going to be cheering as well and it's my first time. We practice almost everyday after school and we've got a big away game in 2 weeks that I'm very excited for. I just hope James doesn't ruin this for the team. Luke's party is also today, so me and Michelle are going shopping after school for outfits.

I roll out of bed and do my usual morning routine. I put my cheer uniform in and a leather jacket over the top. I tie my hair in a high pony with curls and put a smokey eye with gel liner and a red lip. Apparently all the girls on the cheer teams who have boy friends get to wear their jerseys for the day but I don't see the big deal.

I head down stairs to get breakfast, me and Deborah haven't talked about yesterday and I hope she doesn't bring it up. I do feel really bad but James didn't get in any trouble what so ever.

"Morning!" I say grabbing a pancake and down fruit.

"Darling you know we have to talk about yesterday" I knew she was going to say something. I sigh.

"Yeah, I know I'm sorry and it won't happen again but please can we put this behind us?"

"Yeah ok, why'd you make that stuff up about James though?" Wait she think I made that up.

"I didn't!" I say with a little anger in my voice. This can't be happening. She rolls her eyes and gets back to what she's doing.

I eat my breakfast and I hear the door bell. Must be Luke I grab my bag and open the door to my amazing boyfriend. He has his jersey in his hand.

"Hey riles, I've got something for you" he says taking my leather jacket off and placing his jersey on me. I bite my bottom look and stare up at him. We kiss and get in his truck.

We're at school, me and Luke go our separate ways. I go find Michelle and he goes to find his friends. I walk don't the corridor and no one even notices me anymore. I run up to Michelle and hug her tight.

"Aren't you excited?" I say jumping up and down.

"Not really, I do this every year" she says rolling her eyes.

"No silly for the party" I say grinding making her laugh a little. We both burst in to fits of giggles and head down to our lockers.

The school day went fast and it's the end of the day. First football game of the season. I see Luke and I want to wish him luck before the big game. I run up and he spins me around. I slowly reach my feet connecting our lips, our slow passionate kiss soon turns into a hot make out session. We both back away, I blush a deep red and in the corner of my eye i see James.

"Good luck" is all I say kissing Luke's cheek before walking over to James. I take a seat next to him.

"What's up with you?" I need to know

"You" he says slumping down

"But it was all you fault this happened. Sweet talking Thalia right in front of me"

"I wasn't sweet talking Thalia I was asking her to keep an eye on you" I got it wrong this whole time. It's all me not him, I brought this whole thing on myself.

"I'm sorry I just thought.."
"You just though wrong" he says jumping up and over to his team. Him and Luke sorted out here what shall we call it 'differences' for me.... I mean the big game.

It's the last 30 seconds and we are so close to winning. It's 20 all and I really want our team to get the winning goal. Me and the girls are cheering them on. James gets the ball and passes it to Luke who then passes it back to James and then he scores. I jump up and down and run over to James. I hug him. Wait I hugged him.

"Well done" I say awkwardly backing away

"Thought you'd want to say that to your 'prissy' boyfriend"

"Yeah, it's just your my... Brother and I wanted to congratulate you, are we cool now" I really hope we are. I can't lose him after everything that's happened.

"As ice" he says and walks over to Thalia and pulls her into a make out session right in front of me. My heart break I gulp hard, I got look for Luke and suddenly I get lifted up in the arm. I turn round and I forget James, Luke is amazing and I love him.

I bite my lower lip and he looks me up and down. He places his hands on my waist and I place mine around his neck. We both start to lean in and every time we kiss it's like I've fallen in love with all over again. We both back away for a breathe.

"Well done" I say hugging him.

"Thanks babe but we couldn't of done it with out you" he says pulling me closer.

"I've got to go but I'll see you tonight?" He says kissing my forehead.

"Yeah, bye love you" I say kissing him one last time.

I walk over to Michelle who is patiently waiting on me. We both walk to Michelle's car, I can't wait for tonight.

We arrive at the mall and we are about to walk into forever 21 when I see Emily. Her school went against ours and obviously we beat them. The last time I saw Emily was when she went to mine with Thalia. Speaking of Thalia I see her and James behind them. I gulp hard, Michelle notices them and walks over. I rolls my eyes and put on my happy face. I walk over to them all cheery.

"Hey guys" I say waving

"Are you guys dress shopping too?" I see James roll his eyes and I laugh a bit. This is obviously awkward but here I am again always in these same old situations.

"Yeah, Michelle we should get going" I say tugging her arms. They wave and James just stands there looking at us. We walk into forever 21.

I see the perfect dress a red mini dress with a triangle cut out in the front. I pick it up and but it with a pair of black heals, black clutch and gold statement necklace. I'm ready for the best night of my life.
