Security Detail (Neptune x Writer)

First Day Here

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

     My alarm sounds and I quickly hit the snooze button. Today is the first day of my new job at Planeptune's Basilicom. All I gotta do is not screw up in front of my new boss. I get up and get in my uniform for work, as I had kinda set my alarm to go off later than it should've been. I hurry to grab my keys and head out the door. I get onto my new 2015 Ducati Superbike and while I let the engine warm up,  I put on my helmet and strap it secure. I drive down the road towards the Basilicom. I almost floor it all the way there since I only had 15 minutes left. 

     I barely made it through the door until I was greeted by a woman in cute casual wear. Was everyone in this place not supposed to wear a specific uniform?

-"Hello there! Are you the new security guard?"

-"Yes, was I misinformed about the dress code?"

-"No, no sweetie, this is just how I usually dress!"

-"Maybe this seems too early to ask, but what do you do here?"

-"I work as a nurse for all of the sick people in Planeptune!"

-"I guess I know who to go to if I'm hurt."

-"The nursing station is always open to the public! Anyway, here's the key to your office!"

-"I was wondering why I didn't have that already."

-"I hope your first day here won't be too bad for you."

-"I trained for a month after I got the job approval, so I think I'll be alright."

-"I'm sure we'll run into each other again, bye for now!"

-"Wait!"

-"Hm?"

-"I forgot to ask for your name!"

-"Oh! It's Compa! What's yours?"

-"Riley."

-"That's a nice name! See ya later!"

-"Bye Compa!"

     I arrive at my office and notice a note on my "weapon". It says: "Here's the thing u use to d3fend yourself. ur welcome! -Neptune". It took me a second to realize what she was trying to say, given she wrote it in text talk. The "weapon" can't really be called a weapon because it's basically a steel rod with a dent in it.

-"Who would defend themselves with this? Better than nothing, I guess."

     It was then that I realized that it had a button that said: "ON/OFF". I pressed it. The rod suddenly lit up and what I could only describe as plasmic energy was surrounding it.

-"I guess this was better than I thought."

I report to my post and spend the day there.

Finally the buzzer indicating that it was lunch break went off and I went back to my office. I noticed in my office that there was another note that said:"you've worked enough hours today, so here's your pay! Go home and do what you do! -Neptune" I assumed it was just a printed note but I put it in my bag and headed out. On my way to the door, I was greeted by Compa again.

-"Hi Riley!

-"Hey Compa!"

-"Are you heading out too?"

-"Yeah, there was a note that was on my desk saying I completed my work quota for today."

-"Did you eat yet?"

-"No, I was just going home to get something to eat."

-"There's a Fast food joint just down the road! You wanna go with me?"

-"I'm up for that!"

-"Let's go then!"

     I guide Compa to my motorcycle and start it up.

-"I only have one helmet, but I'll let you have it"

-"Just promise me you won't get hurt."

-"I'll be fine."

     We had lunch at McTronald's and then she went home. I did the same. I offered her a ride back to her place but she said it was a 5 minute walk to her house. I got home, got into bed and set my alarm to the right time this time.

-"I think I'll enjoy that job a lot!"

     I let that thought sink into my brain as I drifted off to sleep.
