Security Detail (Neptune x Writer)

The Resurrection (7 months later)

     I was doing some training with the new recruits. The 2 that resigned a while ago got in the military air force. I privately trained them with Planeptune's latest technology as a gift. They seemed very interested with my tactics and training. After I was done for the day I walked up to them and said:

-"Now listen boys, that course was free, but if you want any more private training, you're gonna have to pay 25$. Got it?"

-"Understood sir." They both said in unison.

     They have become MUCH more formal with me since I brought them in. I like that behavior. Anyway, I better get to Neptune's room. I arrived there and carried out my duties as usual. I don't know why, but I felt a sense of dread. I just had a bad feeling today. I'll be careful. The day carried on as it did every day until Histoire came out of the room and told me to come inside.

-"So what's up?"

-"We have detected a disturbance outside of Planeptune, and we believe it's Arfoire."

-"We'll get it done. Come on Neptune."

-"Wait!" She yelled.

     It was then that the 3 other CPU's barged in.

-"They're coming with us?"

-"We came here because Arfoire is becoming a bigger threat to all of us these days." Vert said.

-"Alright. I'll take all the help I can get." I said walking towards the balcony.

     I jumped off and extended my wings. There wasn't a moment to waste! We all headed towards the site of the report. I stayed silent on the way there. Finally, we arrived at the location and Arfoire didn't attempt to hide herself this time.

-"Good to see that I attracted all of you this time." She said mockingly.

-"We're not fucking around this time!" I shouted.

-"I'm gonna kick your ass!" Blanc said.

-"We'll see about that."

     A heavy atmosphere hung around us as we all just stood, ready for a fight. My sense of dread was growing, something was off. I spotted something in her hand. It was another CPU core! It seems the others noticed too.

-"You have another?" Neptune asked, surprised.

-"That's right, and this time, I have the power to keep it away from you!"

-"Let's test that!"

     I lunged for her and swung the plasma rod at her. She blocked it!? How?! The plasma should be able to cut through anything! Enraged, I kept on swinging at her but she was too fast! The other CPU's came to help and I backed off for now to try and analyze her attack strategy. The suit began calculating her movements and I finally found her weak point. I lunged at her weak point and it hit her dead on. She collapsed. I pointed my mini-gun at her face and told her to get up.

-"I'm-I'm not through yet!"

     Her hand began to glow and soon it exploded with enough force to send us all flying. I was probably down for 10 seconds before I could hear my suits alarms going off. "CRITICAL SYSTEM FAILURE, WEAPONS SYSTEMS DISABLED,  ARMOR PIERCED, EVACUATION RECOMMENDED." I thought about getting out. "EMERGENCY EJECTION PROTOCOLS INITIATED." The suit shot me out of the back with a blast of air. The blast itself hurt me. Landing on the ground made me feel like a wrecking ball. All of my muscles were screaming at me to rest. I looked to the side to see Neptune lying on the ground not that far. I saw Arfoire walking towards her with what seemed to be a giant scythe in her hands. She was going to kill her! I got up and walked towards her with all the strength I could muster! I had to save her! Arfoire lifted her blade as I got closer. Hurry it up Riley! I was going as fast as I could, I wasn't going make it! I had to save her...no matter the cost! I jumped as Arfoire began her swing and I felt and heard the flesh and bones of my waist getting ripped apart.

     I knew this was the end for me. I heard Arfoire getting chased away and the girls taking the CPU core away from her. Neptune was already at my side trying to help, not that there was anything she could do to help. I was just my torso anyway. She was crying as I reached out to her cheek. I whispered loud enough so that they could hear me. 

-"Neptune, I'd give my life to protect you. I swore that long ago, now it's come true. No place to run, I'm in my own tomb."

-"No! This can't be it! We'll find a way to fix you! Just hang in there!"

-"There's nothing we can do now. The gods will take me now."

     I could feel myself fading as Neptune's lips and mine met. She pulled away as the last thing I felt was her love, truly a good way to die.

Neptune's P.O.V

     I felt him fall limp in my arms as I kept crying. I couldn't believe that he was really gone! The other girls came up to me.

-"Neptune..." Noire said.

-"If you're willing to take the risk..." Blanc continued.

-"There may be a way to bring him back." Vert finished.

-"How though?" I asked.

     Vert handed me the CPU core and looked at me with a small smile of hope. I nodded. I took the CPU core and placed on what still remained of his torso. The sequence began and there was a flash of light while it morphed with him and the 2 pieces of his body began to float in the air along with his XS1 Atlas suit for some reason. They combined together in an orb of light. Now was the moment of truth. I could see a silhouette of a humanoid figure. Did it actually work!?!? He fell to the ground with a loud thud. We all ran over to see if it worked.

Riley's P.O.V

I felt my body regain consciousness but I was soon dropped and hit the ground after what seemed like forever. I felt different though. I opened my eyes slowly and saw the girls looking down at me with smiles of relief. Neptune was the first to hug me, after came Vert, then Blanc, and finally, hesitantly, Noire joined the hug. I got up and noticed something different about me. I was in the Atlas suit but, I couldn't get out. I ran a little test, I thought about my mini-gun and the mini-gun came out of my wrist and assembled itself! I deployed the wings and they came out of my back! It was then that I realized that the Atlas suit and I were the same person! I had become one with machinery! I always wondered what it would take but now I know! I looked at the girls who looked just as surprised as I was.

-"How am I still alive?" I asked.

-"Neptune used a CPU core on your dead body and it revived you." Blanc explained.

     Thoughts were swirling in my head. Would I have to make a nation? Is this my HDD mode or my normal mode? At least I could answer the second question right now. I thought about transforming and a beam of light surrounded me. I could feel my arms morphing and my head going inside my body. When the beam faded, I looked around and realized I was much taller than before. The girls looked in amazement. I looked down. I finally saw my "true form". I turned into what resembled a robot T-Rex but much bigger. I checked my system for potential attacks. Plenty of options showed up. I'd have to test those out later.

-"Riley...you're."

     I had to make a name! Think...think. Got it!

-"Not Riley."

-"Huh?"

-"I am the first male god, Red Soul!"

-"Red Soul, huh? I like it!" Vert said.

     I transformed back to my normal mode.

-"I think I'll be heading home now, see ya!" I said.

-"Okay. I think we all need a break after this!" Noire said.

-"Yeah alright, I'll tell Histy the good news!" Neptune said, flying back.

     It was about 15 minutes before I got home and yet again there were a LOT of photographers and reporters outside my door. Weren't they done!? I turned invisible before they could see me and I went inside.

-"Now I'm a god, eh? I'll just have to see what my promotion is! Hoping it'll be something good!"

     With that I engaged "Stasis" mode, which I think was an alternative for sleep, set the "wake-up time" for the stasis thing and let sleep consume me.
