Security Detail (Neptune x Writer)

The Rendezvous

     The next day, I was heading for the Basilicom until my system detected a cry of alarm from the town. I floated in place for a second. I heard it again. I had the system begin calculating how far it was, how long it would take me to get there, how long it would take me to get to the Basilicom after I was done with the disturbance and if I was going to be late because of it. If I hurried, I could make it! I switched the suit into overdrive and shot off towards the disturbance. When I arrived over the area, I stopped in 0.0005 seconds and landed with a back flip. You gotta make a dramatic entrance somehow. I saw that some thug-looking guys were mugging some lady.

-"I don't tolerate people who break the law."

-"Who's this guy?" One of the thugs said.

-"Probably some guy who wants to be a hero." His partner said.

-"I will NOT say this a second time. Leave. NOW." I said firmly.

-"Is he tryin' to pick a fight?" One of them said.

-"I'll fight you if I have to. But I gave you a warning."

-"I bet that suit is home made anyway!" The other one said.

-"Don't test me boy!" I shouted

-"Whatever, let's kill this guy and then take the suit with us." He said.

-"Your funeral." I said.

     I turned the suit into combat mode and the system said:"WEAPON SYSTEMS ONLINE". Both of them looked pretty scared at that point, but they lunged at me anyway. I caught both of their fists and squeezed them. Both of them were screaming in pain.

-"Will you follow my request or not?" I asked.

-"Okay! Okay! We'll stop! Just don't kill us!"

-"Yeah! I'll go back to retail, I swear!"

     I let go of their hands.

-"No no. Don't go back to retail. Here, look at this."

     I handed them a paper with an ad for the Planeptune military. They both seemed happy.

-"ARE YOU SERIOUS BRO!?!?!" They both said in unison.

-"Of course I am. Go to the Basilicom and become like me! Be the one who saves the lives of hundreds of innocent civilians!"

-"Right away sir!" They both said to me in unison.

-"How are your hands? They good?"

-"It still hurts a little but we'll train to make sure that we get more resilient!" He said.

-"Alright boys, I gotta go to work now. Best of luck to you both."

-"Farewell sir!" The other one said.

     I rocketed in the air and flew away to the Basilicom. I had 5 minutes to get to my post before Neptune got there! 

-"MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE!" I shouted.

     The suit seemed to triple its speed and I was approaching the Basilicom MUCH faster now. I got to my post with 1:30 to spare. That was close! Soon after, I saw Neptune walking down the hallway. I tried to act natural but I could tell she noticed.

-"Why you so nervous?" she said after giving me a kiss on the cheek.

-"No point in hiding it now, I guess. Don't be surprised if we get 2 new recruits today or tomorrow, okay?"

-"You went to go get some recruits before work?!" She said excitedly.

-"More like I turned evil to good."
