Security Detail (Neptune x Writer)

The Showdown (3 months later)

NOTE FROM AUTHOR: Sorry there's so many time jumps in the story. I just have nothing to fill in the gaps with. On with the story!

     I had arrived to my post a little late and got scolded by IF. But at least I was able to keep the post. Neptune came back to her room after getting some pudding and greeted me.

-"Hey Riley!"

-"Hello Neptune."

-"You've been keeping your guard up a lot ever since you got that suit of yours."

-"Of course! It's a privilege to even get to keep this suit in the first place!"

-"Alright, alright dude. Talk to you later!"

-"Same to you."

     She entered her room while giving me a wink. I remained at my post for almost 2 hours before Histoire, the Oracle of Planeptune, came down the hall towards me.

-"Hello Histoire."

-"Hey Riley. I need to talk to Neptune. It's urgent! Could you open the door?"

-"Sure."

     I figured she wouldn't be able to open the door with her tiny hands, so I opened the door and let her in.

-"Neptune, Histoire's here to see you."

     I closed the door after she entered and stood guard again. It was about 10 minutes later that Histoire came back and asked me to come in. Why'd she want me? She explained that Arfoire herself was just outside of town and she wanted Neptune to go check it out. But apparently Neptune wanted me to be there too, huh? Why me? SO MANY QUESTIONS! I had no choice but to accept.

-"When do we leave?"

-"Now, if possible for you." Histoire said.

-"Right away!"

     Of course I'd accept to go right now! I'd be able to fly alongside Neptune. And possibly race her there! We headed outside onto the deck at the top floor. She transformed and I finally understood how it works! I activated my wings and proposed the race.

-"Wanna race there?"

-"Haha~ you're cute~"

-"I'm serious!"

-"If you really want to then I'm up for it!"

-"Alright. Ready? 3...2...1...GO!"

     We both took off into the sky in a flash of light. She was fast, but I could do it! I thought of a command and the suit said:"MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE ONLINE". With that there was a short delay before I took off at speeds approaching the speed of sound. As I flew past Neptune, I looked back for a second to see that her face was full of shock. THIS FEELING WAS AMAZING!! I arrived at the coordinates first and waited for about 3 minutes before she got there.

-"I guess I underestimated you~"

-"Just remember we're on a job, so you can transform back now."

-"Awww. Do I have tooo~?"

-"Yes. Come on."

-"Fiiiiiine~"

     She transformed back to her usual playful self and we started looking around. We found something of interest about 10 minutes into the search. It was a blood stained piece of a dress or a shirt. I looked up to see Arfoire looking at me.

-"Glad to see that my trap worked. But I didn't expect her to bring the guy with the shiny new suit."

-"I have orders to execute you."
