The end of a school day

Once we got to our period, Kat walked up to me before the bell rang, "Ed, what happened during your lunch block?" She had an accusing tone in her voice, "Nothing, just had an altercation with another student."

Her face turned angry after I had said that, "How can you say that so nonchalantly?!" Students around us were also talking about what happened during our lunch block. Nothing bad happened, it was only a slight disagreement, "Kat, I reassure you, nothing bad happened. Right Lily?"

Lily fidgeted in her seat after I asked her, "Who did you get into a fight with anyway?" Kat asked before she started sitting on my desk, "Why are you sitting on my desk?"

"I asked you a question. Now answer me," I don't know who the guy was. I turned to Lily who was still quiet, "I don't know who he was, but he seemed to know who you were. So, who is he?"

Before she could answer, Kat asked me another question, "Ed, how tall was he?" I thought back, sizing us up, "He was roughly 6 feet, around there I think. Why?"

"..."

"Is he someone I should be wary about?"

Kat looked down at me and grabbed my collar, "Yes! You just pissed off the principal's son."

A light silence filled the room. Even the students around hushed upped. I broke that silence with a cocky statement, "Why the hell should I care if he's the principal's son?"

"Huh?!" Everyone yelled in shock. I honestly wouldn't care if he was the president's son. I'm still gonna kick ass, "How would you not care. You could get suspended if anything goes too far," I looked at my hands and looked back up, "So if I kick his ass, will I get expelled?"

"Your know for sure that would be the case," Kat brought me close to her face before continuing, "If you get expelled or even suspended... I-I'll never forgive you," I knew that was a bold face lie, "Oh really? Ok then, if you do that, then I won't be your brother anymore..."

Kat face was stupefied at my statement. Her voice grew into a whiny tone, "Ah! I-I didn't say that! Don't tease me like that," Kat flicks my forehead as she said that, "Alright, alright, but I really want to just teach him a lesson you know?"

"I understand that, but it's more than just getting suspended or expelled," I looked confused with the statement. I don't get why she would worry about something more than being expelled, "What do you mean?"

"He will eat you alive," I slightly chuckle at that statement, "How can you laugh? Are you crazy?" Kat sounded worried, but I reassured her, "Haha, maybe I am crazy. But I doubt that meat log can do anything to me, haha!"

"Don't be so cocky," Once my time to laugh was over, I turned to Kat once again, "Kat, what's the deal with him being the way he is?" I asked Kat who's face was sad.

The bell rung before Kat could answer. I picked up my bag and stretched, "Well, where is mom gonna pick us up?" I had asked as I started walking out the room. I heard Kat start walking hastily towards me, "Wait a second, if you want to know... then, I'll tell you why, alright?"

"I got it," Kat grabbed me once again, her head was bowed down. I grew worried and I put my hand on her head, "Alright, I-I won't do anything to him for the time being. So what's up with him? He shouldn't do that, he's just abusing his own father's power,"  Kat silently spoke, "Actually, his own father is scared of him."

"How?" Who would be scared of their own son. It doesn't seem right, "Have you seen the principal? He can't discipline him because of the size difference," His father must be small then. But, if he can't even discipline his own off-spring, then his son will continue to act so rambunctious.

"I see, it's doesn't matter if I get in trouble... it matters of what the after effect could be," Kat nodded her head. I saw Lily sat up and slowly walk over to me, "Lily?"

When she reached me she grabbed my arm protectively, "Ed, whatever you do, don't do anything stupid," Now, both girls girls were embracing me. Looks like this guy is the real deal, *sigh* me and him will our time alone, but for now, I need to comfort my sisters, "I won't, I promise. Now c'mon, we gotta go meet up with our other sisters," They looked up to meet my smile and nodded.

As I stepped outside, I was tackled down by a slender figure, "Gotcha!"

"Ed!" Both Kat and Lily yelled after I was tackled. My vision was blurred from the impact, but I heard Lily, "Are you alright, Ed?"

Once I looked at who tackled me. My eyes opened brightly, "C-Charl?" My eyes was in amazement as I saw my old friend from the orphanage, "I told you to stop calling me that. Remember, it's Charlotte Whittaker!"
