Charlotte

"You know I always call you Charl," The girl that tackled me was my friend from the orphanage. Her name was Charlotte, although before, she didn't have a last name for obvious reasons. I would call her Charl because I wanted to give a nickname, "Don't say that name. Oh, Ed, you're always such a tease," Once we got up and dusted ourselves off, Kat grabbed me by my arm, "Who is this Ed? And why do you have a nickname for her?"

"Remember the girl I told you about that would fix my hair up. Well, this is her," Kat glared at Charl before tightening her grip around my arm, "Would you mind loosening your grip Kat?" I added a nervous chuckle after I had asked that, "Oh, these must be your new sisters. It seems one of them is already attached to you."

"Oh you best believe it, but at least they care about me," Charl nodded and took my other arm, "Well, you can abandon them today right. We haven't seen each other in months, and we should catch up," Kat mouth opened wide as she grabbed my arm, "W-What, no! He's gonna spend time with his new family. Especially me!"

I see the sparks in there eyes collide with one another, and I turn to Lily for help, "Sorry Ed, that's a... personal problem," I'm still trying to break away from their grip, "Actually, I need to go looking for a job girls. I've already told mom Kat, so it should be fine."

"Oh, you can work at my job," Charl pulled me away from Kat as she said that, "Really, is there a spot open?" I did need a job for the year. Maybe Charl can help me, "Of course, it's a new store that opened up a month ago. We're low on workers and I think you should work there."

"Yeah, c'mon, I need a job," Kat then grabbed my sleeve before we continued, "Wait, what about heading home?"

"I'll be back before dinner tonight. Don't you girls worry about me," Kat nodded silently and we headed to Charl's job, "So where is this job at?"

"It's downtown, so I'll take you there," We continued walking and talking, until I felt like I was being watched, "What's wrong Ed?" Charl stopped and she looked back at me, "I think I'm being watched," We looked around trying to find anyone staring at us. Once we found nobody, we continued on to her job, "Here we are, this is a manga cafe that just opened up a few weeks ago. They started hiring and they still are!"

"A manga cafe here? Wow, that's so awesome. I know they're some in America, but now we have one close to here!" The excitement in my voice explained it all. I love anime and manga, I plan to make my own in the future, "Yup, I knew you would want to work here," I followed her inside and a burly man walked out with a big box, "Oh, Charlotte, today's your day off. Why are you here?"

"I have someone that wants a job here. He loves manga just as much as all of us," He gave a hardy laugh and put the box he was carrying down on the floor, "Ha, oh really, I'm glad to here that. So when can you start?"

I smirked and answered, "I can start tomorrow. Wait, is there no registration?" I was waiting for an interview, but to no avail, I didn't get one. He just hired on the spot, "I think if you like manga, you should work at a place that has it. Am I not correct?" He had a big smile on his face as he said that, "You are very correct indeed sir, haha!"

We both exchanged smiles and we talked for a few hours about our favorite manga. I glanced at my watch and saw it was almost 7, "Oh man, where did the time go?! Sorry, but I gotta go, I know for sure my sisters are gonna destroy me when I get home," I wave them goodbye and quickly head home. I had to get home quickly.

Once I had reached my front door, I take out the key that my mom had given me and enter inside quietly. Just then, I heard a voice call out to me, "Have fun?" I turned to the corner beside the door. All I saw was dark red eyes appear from the darkness, "Well, answer me..."

I feel her get close and all I saw was darkness. Is this... the end of Ed Lucifer?
