I would like to introduce you to the talented aunt and niece duo who are best friends, love books, hail from Southern California and created the KaraMichelleBooks profile and they currently have 8.4k followers. Their co-written book Breeder Nation is currently #1 Science Fiction and has 381k reads. Thank you for kindly agreeing to undertake this interview. Let's get ourselves comfortable as we settle down in our virtual café in our comfy chairs. Now I'll order. What are we drinking? Coffee? Tea? Or a glass of wine?? Oh and are we having cake? If so, which cake is your favourite?- Is there a memory attached to it that you would like to share?

Reply: We'd like to order shots! We just found out we're #1 today in Scifi!!! And cake? Absolutely! Anything chocolate. Especially dark chocolate...for the both of us. ;)

How did you end up writing together and is it complicated knowing who will write what. What system has evolved that works for you both?

Reply: It seems the universe has been trying to get us to work together for a long time. At one point, we thought about making something together to sell at farmers markets, then we wanted to start a book review blog for the steamy books we love...and let's be honest, the steamier the better! And finally, one day, we realized how much our love of books brought us even closer than we already were, and we don't even remember who said it first, but somewhere along the way we thought, let's try this! Let's write a book together that we'd love and try to make something of it. <3 you Kara!!! <3 you more!!!As complicated as it may seem to write together, it's really not. We even thought it would be at first, but we each took on a character, Maddie for Michelle, and Travis for Kara. We discuss the chapters beforehand, what points we want to hit, and then we each have the freedom to write the chapters around those points, and it's just seemed to work for us really well.

What inspired you to write Breeder Nation? Was there something specific that made the idea come alive to you both?

Reply: Okay, this is really funny... I (Michelle) had a dream surrounding this plot, though it was a much more morbid version, and when we decided to write together I brought it up, and Kara said, "Ewww! No thanks!" So, we juggled with other ideas, but eventually we came back to this, wanting to tell a story that hasn't been told before and agreed on a less creepy version. Haha!

So girls you have almost finished the book Breeder Nation and you are just keeping everyone waiting for the Epilogue our fingers are tapping in frustation– to find out what you are going reveal about Maddie and Travis before you sign the story off. So what happens next, will there be a book 2 or are you working on a completely different story and characters? Do share.

Reply: As of yesterday, we posted the revised, final chapter, and we're very pleased with it. The epilogue will be coming next week, which will be a preview of what's to come and what characters will take the lead in continuing the story. And we are soooo excited! But it'll be a while before book 2 is posted, because we want to take the time to edit Breeder Nation and get started on book 2 before we start posting.

Have you written any books on your own and do you plan to do so?

Reply: This is the first book either of us has ever written, and it's been so much fun having a partner in crime that we don't think we'd ever do it alone. Being able to bounce ideas off of each other, and have each other's input, while being equally invested in our characters and the story is just too much fun! We don't want to give that up!
