Travis' POV:

"M-maybe," she replied, "Well, kind of, I kinda snuck aboard the boat."

I don't know why I did, but I believed her, something about her just told me I could trust her.

"Do you have a place to stay?" I asked, assuming she didn't."You can stay with me if you want," I offered, wanting more company while my mom was away.

"Well, actually, I don't know anyone, and don't have a place to stay, since I ran away from home," she answered, "Thanks for the hospitality, I appreciate it."

I smiled, and she smiled back.

"No problem," I said, ignoring the fact that people were now starting to stare at us, the two oddest of all people in the village, starting a friendship, and maybe even more.

Katelyn's POV: (because I have no idea what else to put in Travis' POV XD)

I don't know why I trusted him so much that I told him everything, it was just this comfort and safety I felt, I guess. Soon, he invited me kindly into his house, and soon I opened up everything, about running away from the O'khasis guards, trying to fit in as a "lady", and even my life before that. He listened eagerly, and like he actually cared, unlike anyone else I have ever met. He seemed to understand, in a way and it was calming to just talk.

He started to open up too, and I listened closely as he was talking about how his dad was the Demon Warlock, and how and why I ended up here. Not only did he tell me about his dad and the island, he opened up some of his personal life too. When we were both done sharing our stories, it was starting to get dark.

"It was good to let that all out and talk to someone who would genuinely listen, thanks," I said, smiling.

"Thank you, em-" he paused, "What's your name?"

"Oh, it's Katelyn," I said.

"Oh, I'm Travis, it's nice to meet you,"

Travis, hm, I whispered the name to myself over and over again. He went over to what I guessed was the kitchen, and brought out some food.

"You hungry?" he asked.

"Yeah, food would be great, thanks,"

We ate for a while, and talked a bit more. He seemed nice, and he was around my age.

Smiling, we sat together on the couch. Slowly, my eyes began to close as I rested my head on his shoulder, as he fell asleep too.
