I sighed and sat on the couch smiling my usual bittersweet smile. It wasn't fair, I knew I shouldn't keep secrets from Travis, but I knew I also shouldn't get him involved in this. It was my fault, and he doesn't need to worry about this, especially after everything he has already been through.

"What's wrong Katelyn," he had asked, "Did you not like it?"

"No, it was beautiful," I said, avoiding his gaze, "I'm just.....tired," I lied after a moment of awkward silence.

"Katelyn," he said softly, "you've been using that excuse for a while now."

"I just didn't get a good night's sleep," I said, not quite lying, but not telling the truth either.

"Promise you'll tell me in the morning," he said, handing me a plate of food that he had just finished cooking. "I'm gonna go sleep early."

I sighed. I shouldn't have lied. I shouldn't have come here in the first place, but now, I had to accept the fate that was to come. I had brought this upon myself, and there was no way to change that.

I pulled out the note written in blood from before and studied it. For some reason, I had become weirdly interested in it. There was something strange about it that was bothering me.

I decided not to think much of it, at least not until I had all the information to figure it all out.

Ugh. I hate this. I hate myself, I hate O'khasis, I hate lying. I wished it could just all be over soon. I wished that my misery could just end. But of course, O'khasis decided to torture me for a little before killing me; of course.
It wasn't right, lying and running away, but at this point, I didn't know what was right and what was wrong anymore.

((A/N: Sorry for not posting this chapter, stuff happened and I wasn't able to post. From now on, Wednesday chapters will be slightly shorter than normal. When I can, I might write a bit more of this chapter. I'm not sure.))
