Katelyn's POV:

Slowly, carefully and hesitant, we kissed. A slow and gentle kiss. His gentle warm lips on mine, and mine on his. It was stupid, but that didn't matter. All that mattered was that we were here, together. I could feel his heartbeat, strong, steady, and consistent, thundering and blazing like a fire burning with passion. Time seemed to slow as we continued, as if it was also spellbound by the mezmorizing spell of love. His tousled silver hair brushed against my cheek, still tangled from tossing and turning last night. Hugging him fiercely, I closed my eyes, letting a small tear escape, letting it roll down my cheek. I knew it all had to come to an end, sooner or later, but I wanted it to last forever. An impossible love, like something out of a fantasy.

At last, after what seemed like an eternity, the magical moment ended. My hands instinctively went to my cheeks as I felt them turn an embarrassing shade of rosy pink.

"S-sorry," we both said at the same time, embarrassed and shocked as we pulled away from each other, both feeling ashamed.

"It's okay, I'm just shocked," Travis responded, saving me from an awkward silence.

"Shocked in a good way, or a bad way?" I asked, hoping it wasn't the latter.

"Shocked by how good it felt," he answered, which made me blush harder. "What about you, is this your first?"

"Yeah," I admitted, "It was the best thing that has happened in a long time, ever since what happened in O'khasis."

He smiled at me, causing my heart to flutter around in my chest. I tried to smile back, but it ached. I should've accepted my fate long ago, instead of running away. I should never have come here, I should've never let myself get attached. I had thought that maybe this time would be different. I thought that maybe a little distraction was okay. I thought that maybe when I let him melt my defensive walls this time something good would come out of it, but the truth was too much.

"Is everything alright?" He asked, "You went silent for a while."

"Everything's fine," I lied, hastily wiping away a tear that had rolled down my face.

"Katelyn, what's wrong?" Travis asked again. "I know you, and I also know that something's wrong."

The tears came pouring out. First, a tiny trickle, until a waterfall started pouring out. "I just...don't want this to end, I don't want to go back."

I paused to take a breath, breathless from all the tears.

He brushed my hair aside and gently wiped away a tear.

"Katelyn....." He began, "You can choose your own path, and I'll always be here for you, whichever path you take."

Overcome by emotion, I ran into his arms and buried my face in him, tears overflowing.

"Travis...." I began, choking on tears as I spoke.

"Yeah?"

"Promise me....promise me that you'll never forget me, no matter what happens. Please, promise me that you'll never forget us. Promise that you'll never forget our kiss. Promise me no matter what happens."

"I'll never forget you, or us. I'll always remember no matter what happens.....
I promise"

((A/N: Sorry for short chapters, I'll try to write longer chapters with at least 500 words in the future. Some chapters are just really short to torture you guys with cliffhangers though....>:) Jk, love you guys! By the way, I updated my bio, if you haven't seen it, go check it out, and I'll be using Public Conversations more than Authors Notes to talk to you guys, and to ask for your opinion on stuff. Go check it out if you haven't! ~_lord_nicole_))
