"Hey doc! When can I leave? Ok naman na ako ah"

And here we go again...

"Look! I can freely move my leg already, therefore there's no reason for me to stay here!" The girl whined while shaking one of her legs that was wrapped with bandage.

"As I was saying Ms. Valdez, you need to stay for a couple of weeks para ma observe ko yung paggaling ng mga paa mo. Your injury is no joke! You're lucky enough na hindi natuluyan yang mga buto mo sa paa!" She, once again, reminded her annoying patient.

"Let's have a deal then. If my legs completely heal within 9 days, you'll go out on a date with me." She challenged the young doctor in front of her, earning a smirk from the latter.

"What makes you think na papayag ako?" The doctor challenged back.

"Let's just say na im your luckiest charm for the upcoming promotion" Alyssa teased.

Dennise couldn't help but glare at her patient, she knew she wasnt supposed to treat her patients that way but she wasn't able to control herself on this peculiar one.

"What? Teka, pano mo nalaman ang tungkol sa promotion?!" Dennise blurted out, shock evident in her voice.

Alyssa adjusted herself to a more comfortable position, still not diverting her eyes away from the doctor's prying ones.

The door swung open and the creaking sound invaded the quite room in that idle moment.

"Nandito lang pala ang inaanak ko!" A doctor, already in his late 40's, greeted the oh so pitiful Alyssa who beamed back the moment she saw the old man.

"Nong!" Alyssa greeted.

The old doctor who was standing in front of Dennise was no other than the director of the hospital she was working at, and to make matters worse, he was her mentor for pete's sake!

"I see that my apprentice here is in charge of my inaanak" Dr. Enriquez, the old doctor, then turned to where Dennise was standing. "It's nice to know that Alyssa here is in very good hands! I can count on you naman diba, hija?" He asked with a smile plastered on his face.

Dennise reassuringly smiled back to her mentor as she spoke. "Of course doc! You can count on me!"

"Well, atleast panatag na ako ngayon. I guess i can leave you now at may meeting pa ako in 5 minutes." The doctor took a glance at his wristwatch before exiting the room and closing the door behind him leaving the two alone again.

"So-"

Dennise cut Alyssa midway.

"Fine, I agree" she sighed in frustration.

The following day went well for Alyssa, but not for the young doctor who had a hard time assisting Alyssa in her routines since there were no guardians available who would do the job.

All the while, Alyssa kept pestering Dennise that made the latter leave her desk in surrender and attend to her patient's demands.

And then it hit her, she was a doctor and definitely not a nurse nor a nanny! But then again, she had no choice since her patient, who was her mentor's godchild, personally demanded for her assistance.
