I had to be brave. I knew that I had a gun, and they most probably didn't. Well, I hoped they didn't.
"Who Are You?" I said, calling out to the other person. My voice so sounded scratchy.
They didn't respond, instead they banged onto the door even harder.
Could this be Carter? Was he finally back? It sounded ridiculous, but it wasn't an impossible thought.
"I Have A Gun, Who Are You!"
I demanded. The banging stopped.
I heard shuffling, but not from outside, from the hall way behind me.
"Riley?"
I turned around, and almost screamed.
"Carter!"
He ran towards me & hugged me tightly. Carter had a firm, yet comfortable grip on me as I pulled him closer.
"Where Were You?"
I cried and pushed him away, but still holding my arms on his shoulders.
"I Went Looking For You? Riley, Where Were YOU?" He seemed stressed.
Before I could reply, the door shook violently. The person was now definitely going to get in if we didn't act fast.
Wiping my tears, I turned to the door.
Carter didn't speak, he simply looked down at the gun I held in my hand and nodded silently before he backed away into the hall & ducked behind a plant.
I took a breath and opened the door. Outside, i saw was a person on their knees, they looked weak. The person was wearing a hoodie and a jumper that came up past their mouth. All you could really make out was their green, cat eyes & some brown, straight hair that spouted out the front of their hood.
The person didn't look up at me. They just sat there.
"Who Are You?"
I sternly called as I pointed the gun at their head. My finger on the trigger and my hand shaking.
"Please.. Food"
Their voice was rough and dry. I couldn't make out if this person was a boy or girl, but I knew they were on the verge of dying.
"Come In, But Don't Make Any Sudden Movements, Or I Pull"
They didn't nod, but they did scuffle into the base and collapsed onto the floor, coughing.
"Please.. Now.."
Carter ran in with water and he slid along the floor before he kneeled beside the person.
Slurping the water, the person took a deep breath. Then, they sat up.
"Thank You" they gasped.
Their voice was clearer, it was definitely a boys voice, but his accent was foreign. He almost sounded British.
I still aimed the gun at his head.
"Who Are You?" I asked again.
It was becoming really annoying that he was just ignoring me.
He sniffed, almost chuckled.
"You Know Darling, You Really Shouldn't Just Let Strangers Inside Your Base"
I pushed the gun aggressively towards his head.
Carter saw and held down my arm, disapprovingly. He shook his head and looked at me, then back towards the boy.
The boy lifted both his arms mockingly.
"You Better Tell Your GirlFriend To Stand Down Mate"
He sounded sarcastic, almost joking.
"She's Not My-"
"Or Else What?" I asked angrily.
"Oh God, I'm Terrified" the boy mocked.
I shoved Carters arm out of the way and held the trigger.
"Do It" the boy said. He wasn't scared. Not even one bit.
The boy looked up and pouted under his jumper. His eye brows were full and well shaped, they kind of made him look smug, like he knew he was a dick. His green eyes stared up at me.
Reluctantly I pulled the gun away from him and stuffed it into my pocket.
He stood up and brushed off his long, medieval-looking coat. The boy was wrapped up from head to toe. He even had slick, black gloves on his hands.
"Who Are You?" I asked, for the 100th time.
Turning and walking towards the door, he stopped.
"Me?"
He laughed.
"Oh Darling"
He turned and pulled his black jumper down and uncovered his soft, plump mouth.
"They Call Me Nightmare" he whispered.
He winked as he turned and kicked open the door. He then grabbed the top of the frame which he used to swing himself up and onto the roof. I heard him scatter and jump around on top of us.
The doors shut behind him & just like that he was gone.
"Carter" I said, emotionless. I was so confused about what just took place.
"Yea Riles?" He too sounded astounded.
"Did He Know The Gun Wasn't Loaded?"
"Maybe. I Don't Know. Some People Aren't Fazed By Death Anymore"
Carter stood up from the floor and walked over to me. I was still staring in confusion out of the cracks in the door. What the hell had just happened?
