"Mila, Can You Help Me With This For A Second?"
Nightmare called from the garden. It had already been three days since I got here.
Turns out, the house we were in was almost 200 years old. Things like that always fascinate me.
"Sure! One Moment"
I called back at him. Patting down my jeans, I rushed over to the garden door.
Outside, Nightmare was pulling weeds out of the dry ground. Him and Dawn had been here a while apparently.
When I first came, Dawn was a bit off towards me, now it's like we've known each other for such a long time.
"What Are You Doing?"
I asked as I jogged over to him.
"What Does It Look Like? Baking? Playing Cards?"
"Shut Up"
I rolled my eyes. He copied me, mockingly.
"Here, Pull This"
Nightmare instructed my hand on to the bottom of the plant. It was big and didn't look like the normal weeds we'd usually pull out.
"Okay. Pull!"
My hands gripped the plant tightly and I pulled... And I pulled.
"It's Not Moving"
I gasped, catching my breath.
It was true, that plant was not going to budge.
"Wait Here, I'll Get The Axe"
Before I could respond, he ran inside and out of sight.
I began plucking small leafs off of the stem of the plant.
"What The Hell?"
My fingers scraped across the top of the plant, a small black camera was hidden inside one of the leafs.
"Hey! Guess Who's Back?"
I stood up and rushed over to him.
He could see the panic in my eyes and immediately dropped the axe.
"Mila? What's Wrong?"
He yelled, my feet still stumbling over towards the door.
"There's .. Theres A Uh.. Camera In The Um Plant"
I whispered, I didn't know if the camera could pick up any noise.
"What's Going On?"
Dawn shouted, following Nightmare.
"What? What Camera?!"
My hand latched on to Nightmares. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Dawn scowl.
"Over Here"
I ignored her and dragged Nightmare over to the plant and pointed at the small camera.
Dawn hurried over to join us and almost fell backwards in shock.
"It's Them.. Isn't It?"
She asked, her voice was shaking. As was her whole body.
"Who's Them?"
I tilted my head at Nightmare.
"Crap!"
He screamed and grabbed at his hair angrily.
He began kicking the grass, some flew into my face and hair. Why was he so mad at the camera?
"Dawn. Kitchen. Now"
His tone was stern, Dawn didn't dare ignore. She hurriedly dashed inside the kitchen and slammed the door, leaving me alone.
I crawled cautiously over to the now flashing camera.
"Hello"
My hand stroked across the lens.
"I'm Mila."
The camera must of been motion censored, because it moved side to side. Was it shaking it's like, head?
"I'm Sorry. I Don't Understand?"
Someone was controlling the camera, that someone thought that they knew me.
"I'm Mila. Can You Hear Me?"
The camera jolted in different directions, it was trying to spell out something.
"R?"
I asked it. It moved as if it were nodding.
"R-I-L"
It continued to jolt in all directions until it spelt out Riley.
"What?"
I sat crossed legged in the grass. Was Dawn and Nightmare playing a trick on me? They were the only ones to call me Riley.
"Mila Is My New Name. What's Your Name?"
It took a few moments, but the camera began moving again.
After a short minute it spelled out a word.
"Tom? That's Your Name? It's Not A Very Interesting Name"
I spluttered.
The camera nodded in agreement. At Least this person answered my questions, unlike Dawn and Nightmare who refused to tell me anything.
"Do You Have Any Friends?"
I asked it.
What a stupid question, I was actually talking to a camera.
"Carter?"
I said as it spelled out.
Just saying that name made my heart skip a beat and my stomach flutter.
"And Hayden?"
That name caused the complete opposite to my stomach. It made it churn in disgust.
"I Have Friends Too"
My head moved to look at the kitchen where Nightmare and Dawn were yelling at each other.
The camera tilted to the side.
"Their Names Are-"
"Mila? Mila!"
I jumped quickly, Nightmare was walking towards me.
"What Are You Doing!" He began running. He sounded pretty pissed.
"I'm Talking To Tom"
His face turned a sickly white colour before he pulled me aggressively away from the plant and camera.
"Tom?"
He coughed up. As he spoke, spit hit the floor beside me.
"Yeah. That's Who's Behind The Camera. He Said My Name Was Riley, But I Explained My New Name Is Mila. He Said He Has Friends With Him-"
"Friends! Who?!"
He cut me off, tightening his grip on my small wrist.
"He Said One Of Their Names Was Carter, I Like That Name. It Made Me Feel Warm And Happy. But Then He Said Hayden. I Didn't Like That One. My Stomach Is Still Hurting From That. I Think Hayden's Bad"
I said, trying not to leave out any information.
I could see the anger in Nightmares expression. He flung me along the grass, which made me yelp out.
My arms hit part of the wooden garden fence, making my skin rip and blood trickle down on to the grass.
I turned to face the plant, Nightmare had an axe in his hands and was about to swing for it.
"No!"
I screamed. He instantly stopped and faced my crippled over body.
"Mila-"
"Please. Let Me Say Bye"
As dramatic as I sounded, Nightmare agreed and backed away.
I stumbled over to Tom. Still cradling my bleeding arms.
"Tom?"
I whispered and the camera nodded.
"Are You A Bad Guy?"
The camera shook violently. Did I really trust a camera? It seemed like he was a bad guy. Nightmare didn't like him.
"Where Are You?"
It moved itself into the letter X. I didn't really understand, but I shrugged it off.
"How Do You Know Me?"
This time my voice trembled. Did I want an answer?
"Nightmare?" I asked.
It nodded.
I peered up at Nightmare who bit his lip angrily.
"Can I Please Kill It Now?"
He tried to stop himself from shouting. His face was red.
"Jesus. Please Just Wait Okay?"
I turned back towards the camera.
"Tom-"
It started moving again, this time more rapidly. My eyes could barely keep up.
Nightmare was as shocked as I was.
"Whats He Saying!?"
I opened my mouth to say something, but instead I leaped back and sprinted into the house.
Dawn was sat at the table and we stared at each other for a split second before I bolted up stairs and into the room with the lock on.
My hands slid over the lock and twisted it furiously.
I could hear Nightmare and Dawn rushing up the stairs.
"Mila! Mila!"
Nightmare screamed, his words were scratchy and I could tell he sounded more scared than anything.
"Mila Please!"
Dawn screamed repeatedly.
It was no use. I was not leaving this room.
After an hour of continuous screaming and yelling, they finally stopped and headed down stairs.
I watched out of the window as Nightmare axed the plant.
The sky was turning a greyish, black colour.
Tears rolled down my face as I slumped into the bed. I didn't understand anything anymore. I pounded the pillow weakly. Who was I? How did Tom know me? Who was Tom? What was X? Why can't I remember anything at all?!
One thing I did know is that they were coming, and we were all going to die.
