Carter lifted his head.
"How Long Was I Out?"
"Almost Six Hours" I replied.
I continued to look through the papers. He must of seen me.
"Crap" he winced.
He grabbed his curly, dark hair and stared up at the plain ceiling. He seemed stressed out.
"Why Didn't You Tell Me?"
"I Didn't Want To Hurt You"
"Bullcrap"
I knew he was lying. Once again. How many more secrets was he keeping from me?
"Riles-"
"Carter Please"
I spun around to face him. His shirt was ripped and showed his pronounced abs. He was wearing shorts which I had put on him, and his leg was bloody.
"What Do You Want From Me Riley?"
I wanted him to hug me, to tell me I'm okay. I wanted back the Carter I knew months ago.
"The Truth"
He looked at me then at the ground. He pushed himself up off of the make-shift bed and limped over to the couch.
"Come And Sit"
I didn't want to. I shook my head and he curled up his lips.
He seemed upset.
"Where Do I Start?"
"Tell Me Everything"
He rambled on and some parts were actually interesting.
"I Was Only 14 When I Started. My Dad Was Actually The Leader Of The Company. He Was Number One Back Then"
"You Was Only 14?"
"Yeah. Crazy Right? But He Trained Me. I Had To Get Up At 5Am And Train Until 10Pm. It was Hard But, It Brought Me To The Top"
It Scared Me A Little. To Think That Carter Would Do That. But Then, He told me about his team. There was 5 of them. He called them his brothers.
"Our Team Was One Of The Best. There Was Me, Maniac, Victor, Calvin And Reese"
"Maniac? Was That His Real Name?"
"No" he chuckled.
"Maniac Was Like, His Stage Name. A Name He Used At Work. His Real Name Was Dean"
I froze. I hadn't heard that name in ages. It made my heart stop and my throat tighten.
"You Okay?"
I had to stop for a while. I needed to catch my breath.
"Yeah. It's Just That My, My Um, Non-Biological Brother Was Called Dean"
He nodded.
He waited for me to calm down before he continued.
He told me all about the adventures he'd go on.
"I Had A Private Jet. We Would Get Dropped Off At Their House. They Were Usually Rich And So A Private Jet In Their Lawn Wasn't A Big Deal"
"Then What?"
"One Time, Me And Maniac Were Climbing Up The Side Of A Building When His Grappling Hook Slid Lose. He Almost Died."
"What Happened?"
"I Grabbed Him And Carried Him With Me"
There was a lot of times where his team almost lost their lives.
"So. You Still Haven't Answered My Question"
I teased as he finished his last story.
"What Question?"
"Why Didn't You Tell Me"
"Well, It's Not A Topic That Came Up. I Couldn't Just Be Eating Dinner With You And Then Randomly Be Like 'Oh Yea And Then I Became An Assassin'."
I laughed at the thought of it.
He joined me and we giggled for almost 5 minutes.
"Riley"
He said after we had stopped rolling about in laughter.
"Yea?"
"Are You Afraid Of Me?"
"Are You Going To Kill Me?"
"No Never"
"Then No Carter. I'm Not Afraid Of You"
He smiled at me. It was getting late and we had a big day ahead of us. I was going to teach Carter how to hunt. This would be the first time he would of hunted animals, not humans.
