Dawn and I made our way over to Nightmares room.
It was becoming daylight so it was easier to make our way around the confusing and quite large house.
We carefully pushed open the door, it creaked as we did so.
Dawn stomped over to his bed and started patting him lightly.
The muscles in his back were deep and shaped well.
"Nightmare, Babe. Wake Up"
She whispered into his ear.
Nightmare turned on to his side in his sleep. His long lashes fluttering at every small sound.
"Uhh.. He's Not Waking"
She said to me.
I raised my brows and looked down at Nightmares peaceful body. He looked like he was in a really deep sleep.
"I Got It"
I snapped my fingers before clambering on top of him. I grabbed his heavy shoulders and shook him violently.
His hands grabbed on to mine to stop me from shaking him and he opened his eyes.
"What The Bloody Hell Guys?"
He snored then pushed me gently off of him and sat up, rubbing his eyes.
I looked over at the large map that was plastered on to his wall. It showed the town from CloverFord to Zone X. Maybe it would come in handy.
"We're Going To Zone X"
Dawn breathed, hoping that he'd agree with our plan.
"Shut Up, Dawn"
He snorted. His hair was tangled and strands stuck down to his pillow indented face.
"You're Serious?"
His jaw dropped once he saw our straight expressions.
It was clear that he was going to need some persuasion.
"We Have To Nightmare"
I insisted. My lips were pouted and my eyebrows frowned.
"We Can't Go There Mila. It's-"
"Nightmare, There's People There Who We Know"
Dawn pushed. She sounded determined but scared.
"No. I Said No, That's Fin-"
"Please!"
Dawn cried, cutting him off. She tried to reach out and hold him but he hesitantly shoved her away. Tears filled in her eyes and she ran out of the room.
"Crap, Wait!"
He shouted, but she had already slammed her bedroom door shut.
Nightmare held his head in his hands as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"It's Easy We Just Have To-"
"Shut Up Mila. Please"
"No But Look-"
"Mila Stop It! Now!"
His pupils dilated as he looked angrily up at me. His lips quivered but his brows furrowed. He looked really mad.
"Would You Just Listen To Me! For Gods Sake, Stop Thinking About Yourself For Once!"
I snapped loudly at him.
You could see how surprised he looked at my sudden and uncalled for outburst.
"You Don't Know Me Mila. Hell, You Don't Even Know Yourself. I'm Doing What's Best!"
"You're Right, I Don't Know Who You Are. I Don't Know Who Anyone Is Or What Happened Before You Brought Me Here, But I Do Know That You Think You Care A Lot About Dawn. If You Really Wanted To Do What's Best, Don't Lose Her Because You're Too Scared To Take A Goddamn Risk"
"I'm Not Scared-"
"Listen To Yourself! I Honestly Don't Give Two Asses If You And Dawn Come Or Not. I'm Going Because From What Dawns Told Me, Everything And Everyone I Love Is In That Flipping Prison!"
"Yeah. That Prison That I Saved You From Because You Tried To Help Carter!"
"Then You're Just Going To Have To Save Me Again"
I squinted my eyes and shook my head as I left his room, making surety pull the map off of the wall.
Dawn was crying inside her room and Nightmare was shouting.
My heart was racing from the argument, the adrenaline rush was pumping through my veins.
This was it. I was going to Zone X to find Carter.
I rushed down the stairs and out in to the cold morning air.
Not even bothering to look at the map, I ran with the wind blowing through my hair.
It felt so nice to be free. Utterly and completely free.
After running around for a while I finally stopped to take a breather and look down at my map. I hoped that I hadn't gotten myself lost.
"Let's See, Hmm"
I spoke, my words cutting through the silence of the abandoned town.
The map told me that I was close to Zone X, I must of subconsciously ran in the right direction. I wasn't complaining.
"Two Lefts, Three Rights"
My finger tips trailed along the red path that was marked out on the map.
The wind was settling and a bright, summer sun rose high in to the sky. That meant that it was almost the afternoon.
If I wanted to get to Zone X before lunch time, I had to get moving quickly.
After taking two lefts and two rights I saw the long road which lead in to the main building of what should be Zone X.
One more right, I tell myself.
The building was really big and split in to a lot of mini buildings. There was a large garden surrounding the grounds.
It all looked so modern and high technology.
When I reached two shining glass doors I came to a halt. What if Nightmare was right? Dawn had warned me that this place was so much bad news.
Was I making a mistake?
"Hello? Anyone In Here?"
I called, hitting the locked door.
"Who Is This?"
A robotic voice echoed from a small metal intercom.
"It's Mil- Riley. Riley O'Conner"
That's who I was right? It gave me a better chance of getting I than Mila would of.
"Riley? You're Home!"
The doors flew open and a tall woman with ginger hair jogged out of the office.
"I Can't Believe You're Back, Welcome Home Little One!"
She squealed. I smiled weakly. Trying my best to play along.
"Riley, Where Have You Been?"
She started sounding worried and caring, but something told me she was putting on a front. Her arm wrapped around my shoulders as she walked me inside. The doors closed behind us and I was faced with a whole new scene.
It was all so unrealistic and like nothing I had known before. Clean, white walls and marble floors, spiral staircases and tons of happy people.
"Well, It's A Long Story"
