Chapter Seven [edited]

Trevor POV

“Christy Mae.” Mrs. Burt was calling people's names, checking their attendances. And I was hoping she would do it faster, its annoying people how slow she talks.

“Kyla Jay Kimberly.” With the rate she’s going, you’ll think that she was at least sixty years old. But she’s not. In fact, she’s only twenty-nine.

“Trevor Alexander Ong.” Finally. I thought. Since I was always the last one being called in all my classes. I raised my hand and she ticked my name.

This is going to be boring again. But at least all my friends had the exact same schedule as me since we transferred in the middle of the year.

“Psst, Kaela, it's time.” I whispered to Mikaela since she was beside me, then Jordan on her left, Amy/Vanessa behind her, Elisa behind Amy and my ‘new’ classmate, Julius Tan Fatt. (just call him Julius)

She nodded and nudged Jordan, pointing towards me.

“What?” He mouthed. I gestured to him about the time and he nodded. They all knew about this schedule and what time we had to get out. We even had Nurse Wendy to back us up.

Then Mikaela kicked Julius’ chair and nodded. Then he looked at me and I nodded. Time for some action.

“OUCH!” Mikaela clutched her stomach immediately. Everyone knew that Mrs. Burt was gullible. She would believe any lie.

“Miss Mae, is there a problem?” She stopped writing on the whiteboard and looked at Mikaela.

“Yes, there is Mrs Burt. Its that time of the month and I’m having monstrous cramps. May I be excused to see Nurse Wendy?” She asked and I smiled. Julius’ turn.

“Oh! Why, of course, dear. Will anyone accompany her?” She asked, glancing around the class. But before either Amy or Elisa could raise their hands, Julius raised his hand.

“I’ll do it, Mrs. Burt. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind since I’m her best guy friend.” He smiled that intoxicating smile that every girl fell for and stood up, going to Mikaela’s side.

“Excellent, Mr. Julius. You are excused from class to accompany Miss Mae until she feels better.” They got up and left and I smiled. It’s Jordan’s turn now.

“Oh, shoot!” He yelled and got the whole class’ attention again.

“What is the matter, Mr. Michaels?” She asked, placing her marker down, yet again.

“My tooth, ma’m. It hurts badly. I think I bit too hard on the apple I ate this morning.” He clutched onto his right jaw and hissed.

“Well, I guess you should go look for Nurse Wendy too.” She sighed and wrote him a pass and then returned to writing on the whiteboard. It was my turn now.

But before I could do anything, I heard Amy whispering something to Elisa.

“What are they up to now?” I heard Elisa giggle and whispered something back to her. I shook my head and concentrated on my plan.

“Mrs. Burt?” I raised my hand and she looked at me, sighing loudly and slamming her marker on the table.

“Yes?” She asked, obviously she was already annoyed. I clutched onto the parts of my ribs and hissed.

“I got into a fight this morning before school and I think I hurt my ribs. May I go see Nurse Wendy for some meds?” I asked politely.

She shook her head, wrote me a pass and sent me off.

 Score!

Now, on to Nurse Wendy’s office!

Mikaela POV

Trevor had planned on giving a surprise for Amy. I hesitated at first, because I saw the way she look at Luhan and because of another reason. I was in love with a Trevor. We’ve been best friends since we were in diapers and I’ve been in love with him since my hormones started developing.

But I gave in anyway and went off with his plan. I knew he has been in love with Amy since we were 14, but she never liked him back.

Now, we (me, Jordan and Julius) were waiting in Nurse Wendy’s office, waiting for the arrival of Trevor.

I was humming along to a song in my head. I don’t want to brag, but I was known in this school as Miss Talent in our group. I can sing, dance, rap, play the piano and guitar, choreograph dances and write music.

I hummed to the song ‘I Love It’ and slowly began to sing it. When Julius and Jordan heard what I was singing, they immediately joined in and danced along. Yup, they were my boys and dancers.

We were in the middle of our ‘sing-and-dance’ performance, entertaining our fifty year old Nurse Wendy. She clapped and laughed along.

We were cut short when the door opened and closed. There, standing in all his sweating glory, was Trevor.

I smiled and sang louder, gesturing him to join in. He had an amazing voice too. He and I would cover some songs from EXO or other artistes during our free time.

“Finally, that ole' hag let me out. She was getting frustrated of our ‘accidents’ and almost didn’t let me out.” He waved the pass in front of us and passed it to Nurse Wendy.

“Okay, now you guys are here. I’m gonna go take watch at the entrance of the hall. I suggest you all follow me or your teachers are going to find out you were playing truancy.” She opened the door softly and we went behind her.

Nurse Wendy flipped the ‘Nurse in’ board over to ‘Nurse occupied’, so no one will ‘disturb’ her while she ‘treats’ us.

Oh, how I hope we don’t get caught. If we do, I’m blaming this on Trevor for dragging me into it.
