I stood there washing the dishes listening to music as I did so. I wasn't really allowed but Justin had given me his phone and headphones so I could jam.
This song called 'sorry.' by some random guy came on and I was really enjoying it. Before I know it I am bouncing all around my kitchen with my eyes closed. Singing, but not too loud.
While being oblivious to my surroundings, I slip but fortunately fall into strong sturdy arms.
"Are you alright?" I hear a deep voice say. I look up and see an amazing looking young man only a few years older than me. He was black too.
"Yeah yeah I'm fine I landed safely thanks to you." I giggle.
"No worries, I see you were really enjoying yourself there." He chuckles. My cheeks start to get warm.
"Yeah I guess I was really into it."
"Well I'm Callum by the way." He smiles putting out a hand. I return the smile and shake it.
"I'm Indika. Are you new here?" I ask.
"Yeah I am. I just woke up one morning and my mom was just like 'Callum you're going to be a slave.' And that was it, now I'm here. I had to leave my little brother behind." He sighs shaking his head.
"Wow. I know what that's like I had to leave my little sister behind." I say keeping my head low.
"Cruel right? It's just so cruel." Callum says throwing his hands in the air.
"It is. It really is. Anyway, where do you work?" I ask trying to change the subject.
"I am in charge of decor. Like if master wanted to change around his bedroom I'd be the one to do it." He says.
"Really? That sounds kinda fun." I chuckle.
"It really isn't. Master is always changing his mind about things so I am always having to move things. Some are really heavy and I have to do it all by myself." He says.
"Sorry bout that." I say feeling sorry.
"Hey hey in no shape or form is that your fault. Anyway Indika what do you work here as?"
"I work here in the kitchen you know, cooking and cleaning."
"Wow. Is it scary? You know, you have the chance to poison Master." He says the last part in a whisper.
I chuckle. I had never thought that way before.
"Indika!" I hear Mimi's voice in the distance.
"I am sorry I have to go." I say running out of the kitchen and up the stairs.
"Where have you been?" Mimi questions once I get to the slaves room panting.
"Sorry, I was doing the dishes." I say.
"Fair enough." She shrugs.
"Anyway go take a shower before we have to serve dinner you have seven minutes." Mimi says throwing me an old towel.I rush to the bathroom and hop in the shower. The hot water burns against my skin as if baptising me when I hear the door unlock.
I quietly swear under my breath hating myself for not remembering to lock it.
"Even if you had locked it I still would've gotten in, this lock is faulty." I hear a familiar voice chuckle.
I look up to see brown orbs staring at me.
"Justin stop it look away!" I scream waving one hand while the other does its best to cover me.
"Not possible." He says slightly biting his lip.
"Stop you have a fiancè remember?" I squeak.
"Nothing compared to you. I miss you Indika. I'm missing you like crazy."
"Well I'd be lying if I said I don't feel the same." I whisper salty drops rolling down my cheek.
"I don't like Shannon. I don't. She's nothing. She's boring, spoilt, annoying, rude stubb-"
"Justin I think I get it." I chuckle.
"Have you finished showering?" He asks.
"Well basically yeah I was just-"
I am cut off by Justin's lips crashing onto mine.
"Justin please stop." I muffle.
"You're coming with me." He says carrying me and leading me to his bedroom.
