I lay Dylan back in his cot as I grab a bag slowly lowering our clothes into it.

Shannon was right. Justin and I could never be together. So waiting around living my life in private would just be a waste of time.

I soon finish picking Dylan up again putting him into the carrier. I zip up my coat and walk down the corridor.

As I creep I look to see Justin peacefully sleeping with Shannon's arms wrapped around him.

He'll probably never notice I'm gone.

I place Dylan in the buggy and lure it out stepping out into the cold breezy night.

Where do I go now?

I push the buggy attempting to look for a subway near by to catch a train.

I look on the subway map and see a very familiar place. Ipswich.

Home.

It was my only resort and I have forever dreamed of seeing Tabby again. This time with Dylan.

I catch a train and sit for an hour or so watching the cold world pass by me.

The train ride is soon over and I catch a bus downtown.

Here it is. My home. My childhood home full of memories and light. As well as cold nights starving.

I give a hard push on the door causing it to open. The door has been broken for as long as I could remember and a hard push could gain entry.

"Mama?" I call my tiny voice echoing around me. "Who's there?" I hear a reply as a feeble familiar body walks into focus.

Mama.

"Mama mama!" I cry running up to her and embracing her. It's been so long. So long. I pull her tight as salty tears crawl down my cheeks.

"Indika! My darling Indika! She cries kissing my face. "You're beautiful you're so beautiful!" She squeaks tilting her head to look at me.

"Look at you. You're so plump now. You've been eating good haven't you?" She says squeezing my cheeks. I laugh nodding slightly.

Behind our reunion Dylan gurgles and let's a small cry. Mama looks to me. Then the buggy. Then me. I shrug my shoulders slightly biting my lip.

"Please tell me you're babysitting." She says looking at me.

"Well mama, if babysitting your own child counts then sure." I say nervously.

"Indika Felicia Masemola. You-but-how-when-who!" She says in shock picking my hand.

"I see no ring! Indika really? Couldn't wait til marriage? Come on Indika I didn't raise you like this." She frets.

"I know mama I'm sorry. You'll love him though. I swear. His name is Dylan." I smile going towards him and picking him up. Mama looks at him in disbelief.

"He's, he's not black?" She questions in shock.

"He's half mama." I giggle.

"So, that means, he's half Caucasian?" She asks eyes wide. I nod my head.

"But with-who? Which white person on this earth shows no racial impartiality or discrimination?"

"The masters son mama, only the masters son."
