I stand there. Feeling as if my feet were glued to the ground. Feeling as if I could not physically move. I couldn't look at him. I couldn't look at anyone.
"So I guess you're just making your way around the family aren't you?" Shannon laughs hysterically. I stare at the ground fidgeting.
"Son, we never approved of her relationship with Justin, what makes you think we'll approve of yours?" His father asks genuinely.
"Because this time, we're actually in love. Indika is always telling me that what she felt for Justin was dust and for me she actually feels something. Isn't that right Indika?" He says staring at me. I'm lost. If I disagreed and embarrass him in front of his family lord knows what I'd have coming my way.
I nod my head slowly.
"Well if it's real love then I guess it's-"
"Bullshit." Justin screams slamming the table. I shake at his anger. "She's lying. S-she's lying for him. You're lying right? Indika you're lying right? Don't sit there and tell me that it was all a lie. Was it? Indika don't tell me that. Please don't tell me that's true."
I remain silent. "Indika, tell him. Don't be shy, tell him how you really feel." Jaxon smirks.
"Indika, if what he is saying is true, I want you to say it. Say it to my face. Look me in the eye and say that you've never felt anything for me ever." He says eyes wide.
"Justin, I have never felt anything for you." I say holding my gaze into his eyes.
He puts on a forced weak smile and nods his head. "Well then, I guess that makes it all final then." "Anyway, Shannon, we've got some wedding planning to do don't we? 30th August is in what ten days?" He smiles.
I knew what he was doing. Making it harder for me. Making it worst for me. Him and Shannon stand up walking out together with his arm wrapped over her shoulder.
-
"Right so, I think the roses should be a nice white colour." Shannon says as I pour some coffee. "Really? I think it should be a nice blue colour." The wedding planner says."No. Bianca. I really believe that white would be so pretty. Yes!" She squeaks side eyeing me. "Shannon, I really disagree. Look how about we get a third opinion on this."
"Okay, I'll go and get Justin." Shannon says getting up. "No, don't. Excuse me?" Bianca says. I soon notice she's talking to me.
"No, not her, I'll go get Justin." Shannon says with a tone of disgust. "No Shannon, that's such a waste of time. Excuse me?" Bianca calls.
"Yes ma'am?" I ask. "If you were having a wedding, what colour roses would you choose blue or white?" She asks me.
"Well-"
"I don't want her opinion! I don't need-"
"Just hear her out, yes, continue." Bianca smiles.
"I would have, white roses. They're beautiful and signify purity. I love white roses." I nod. Shannon looks surprised for a while but quickly changes. "See! I told you! Shannon's right. Yet again." Shannon laughs in triumph.
"I stand corrected." Bianca nods.I pick up the tray and walk out. I see Justin walking toward me and a weak smile appears on my face at the sight of him.
And then he walks straight past me.
Straight past me.
