Part 24 : Knocked Out

Joe's POV

I was ready to put my plan into action. Id managed to slip my hands out of the knots that tied them together. I was waiting for Alfie to come in next so I knew he wasn't here while I untied Zoe. I know taking a long time may affect Leah but I'd rather get her back beaten and bruised than not get her back at all.  I couldn't bear thinking about it. I didn't want to think about her like that. I tried to imagine her smiling under the sunset but all that came to my head was pictures I'd created of her lying dead on a concrete floor with Alfie laughing horribly over her. The doors burst open and I pretended to struggle to get at Alfie. He walked over to me and placed a bright red hand print on my face. 'It's funny. I used to be scared of you. Because I thought I had to please you because you were the brother of my girlfriend. But now. Look what you've gotten into. I can do whatever I want to you. You can't do anything because I have the two people you love the most right at my fingertips.' He let out an evil chuckle and winked at Zoe. 'You'll love me again one day...even if I have to make you.' He said to Zoe with a smirk as he left the room. I cried. I tried to be strong but I couldn't. I slipped into the emotions I'd been pushing to the back of my mind. They all came through at once. Tears started gushing down me. I felt the room spinning. I fell to the floor with a thud. I wasn't unconscious I could see but I couldn't move. I let the darkness take over and my sight flooded with blackness.

I woke up still on the floor and suddenly remembered the plan. I ran over to Zoe and untied her. I checked she was okay ad told her to run to the back of the room and hide. She did what I said. I walked over to the door and hid at the side. I grabbed a vase of a bookshelf which I had never noticed before and waited. I waited until I could hear footsteps.

About 15 minutes later I heard them. I raised the case into the air ready to quickly smash it of Alfie's head. I heard him unlock the door. Without watching I smacked it of his head and heard him fall to the floor. I dragged him over to my chair and tied his hands behind it. I tied his ankles to the legs of the chair and grabbed the bandana that used to be in Zoe's mouth and tied it in his. I motioned for Zoe to come to me. She did and we walked out the door. It brought us out onto a long corridor. As I began to walk to find Leah I felt something hard hit me on the head. A warm liquid trickled down my face as I fell to the floor.
