Part 29 : Insanity

Joe's POV

3 weeks have passed now. It seems as though everyone has forgotten about us. I couldn't take it anymore. It's begun to make me go insane. I don't think I've slept in a week and before that I hadn't slept in a week and a half. I feel like I need to constantly keep one eye open and protect Leah and Zoe. I felt like they were my responsibility. I could see that Zoe had started to slowly lose her mind. Leah seemed okay, I could be fake though. She could be dying inside.

Alfie came in every morning and night and gave us food. I was so confused why he had kept all of us here this long. I thought he only wanted Zoe. But I'm glad we were all here. We needed to stay together.

One morning Zoe seemed extra on edge. She was acting really strange. I asked her what was wrong and she said 'EVERYTHING! We're trapped here for starters, Alfie's a creep and I'm scared. Honestly Joe I'm petrified.' Tears streamed down her face and she ran into my arms. I hugged her. She was so cold and fragile. I felt like if I squeezed her too hard she would crack. She let go of me and said 'Hurry now is our chance.' 'Our chance to do what?' I said quietly. 'To escape, come on Alfie will be in here soon, hide behind the door I'll knock him out.' I wanted to disagree with her but I heard footsteps and Leah dragged me away. The door opened and Alfie stumbled to the floor. Zoe ran out the door while shouting for me and Leah. Alfie grabbed my leg as I was running. Leah was behind me, trying to pull me out of Alfie's grip. I told Zoe to run. She hesitated and then continued to run across the road.

The next few moment happened so quickly and I couldn't believe my eyes. A car came speeding round the corner way too fast. She ran. She looked back at us and...CRASH!
