Chapter Eleven

The weeks went by quickly and before I knew it, it was already time for the dinner party in Liam's family restaurant. Monica and I were almost done getting ready and our dates could be here any minute. I already wore the white dress we bought a few weeks ago and paired it with heels from my closet. My hair was curled and I clipped one side of my hair, Monica on the other hand, had to buy another pair to go with her blue dress. From the looks of it, she's going all out tonight. Meaning that she's put her A game into her style, and I'm sure that it's for Marcus.

It's also been a few weeks since Caleb and I see each other on campus. After what Heather said to me back in the mall, I told myself not to be affected by her words. But seeing Caleb in campus, our conversations are always short or small talk. I feel bad for him trying to talk to me when I just give him short replies.

Heather made sure that I was in her radar. There was a time when I was on lunch break from class and I headed to the cafeteria inside when Heather was in the middle of the room with her followers and of course, Caleb by her side. Caleb didn't see me, but Heather was persistent that I got a front seat of their lips locking. I cringed at the sight and therefore, I lost my appetite to eat and a satisfied smirk was the last thing I saw on Heather's face.

Throughout my relationship with Liam, it was really fun to be with him. Though our dates are the cliche types like dinner out, movies, mini-golf, I'm having a great time with him. We may have kissed once or twice, maybe more than that, but he didn't push me into sleeping with him, so I guess that's a plus. To summarize my relationship with Liam, he's a gentleman with good looks. It's as if he's the perfect guy. Too perfect.

A knock on the door brought me out of my thoughts.

"It's them!" Monica squealed and hurried up in putting her earrings on. She did one last retouch on her make-up and reapplied some lipstick. I was putting my things in my clutch bag when Monica was already walking towards the door to open it for the guys.

"Hey you." I hear Monica say from the front door, which made me quickly gather my things in my clutch.

I closed the lights in the room and shut the door behind me. I was fixing my clutch when I bumped to a hard chest. I looked up from my clutch and saw Liam looking at me with a small grin on his face.

"Hey," he slid his arm around my waits and pulled me closer to him. "you look gorgeous."

I chuckled and pushed on his chest for a little space between us. I looked at Liam up and down and said, "You don't look so bad either."

"I can take that compliment." He leaned down to kiss my cheek, lingering a second longer. "But seriously, that white dress is killing me."

"Slow down there," I patted his chest and inhaled his cologne. It was too strong, but it still smells good.

"Come on you guys! You better come out still looking dressed properly or else!" Monica shouted from the living room. I took Liam's hand and we walked out to see Monica and Marcus.
