"I wanna call you a kind of feeling I can't name." — It's Strange / Louis The Child

Chapter Three"So you're telling me that Caleb Blackwood is a floor above us? The same Caleb that you were with back in high school?" Monica asked as we laid down on the bed in my room.
"Yup."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive." I answered with no hesitation.
"Are you really really sure?"
"Yes!" I sat up and tucked my feet beneath my thighs. "I don't know what I'm gonna do."
"That's fine, he's a sophomore and we're freshmen. Obviously our schedules would be different." She comforted me. "Besides, you guys are already over right? And it's been two years since you last seen each other. You're not the same Ash back in junior year."
I shrugged. "I guess so. I mean it's Caleb we're talking about here."
"And that is why we're going to that party next week your friend was talking about. What's his name again?"
"Liam." I mumbled. "I told him I'd let you guys meet sometime."
"Is he the one you were with when I texted you?" She smirked as I nodded.
"Great! I could already tell this guy would be good for you." She grabbed my hands and we both stood up in my room. "Now we need to let you look good for him. Call him to hang out or something." She said as she rummaged through my closet to look for clothes.
"Can we not?" I laid back down. "I don't even have his number but he has mine. So, tough luck Mon."
Suddenly my phone rang and both Monica and I looked over at my phone by my table. I narrowed my eyes as Monica returned it with a cheeky smile.
"Oh no you don't." I said as we rushed towards my ringing phone. Monica pushed me to the side and I landed on my ass on the floor.
"Mother—" I didn't finish when Monica had my cellphone in her hand.
"What do we have here?" She examined my phone. "An unknown caller! I bet it's Liam." She wiggled her eyebrows.
"No it's not. We just met yesterday and hung out a few hours ago." I shook my head in denial.
"We'll just have to see."
"No, don't—" But she already placed it in her ear.
"Hello? Oh this is Liam? This is her best friend, Monica." She shot me a smug look while I glared at her. I stood up, rubbing my butt in the process because it still stings a bit and marched over to where Monica is standing.
She held out her arm to prevent me from reaching her. "You want to talk to her?" We heard him say something and Monica quickly replied, "Tomorrow alright! See you then, you know where we live." And cut the phone call.
"Why did you do that?" I snatched my phone from her grasp.
"You need to date someone again Ash!" She explained. "It's been two years since you dated Caleb and he was the last guy you were with. As your best friend I need you to be happy and find someone new. You can't always be hung up on the past." She walked towards me. "I'm worried for you." She frowned.
