The Unexpected

Chapter Five

I couldn't show my mom that I was a werewolf like Lucas but I couldn't let my mom kill Lucas. There was only one thing that I could do, I had to show my mom that I was a werewolf too and maybe it will give Lucas enough time to get out. So I step in between them and I look at Lucas and change into the other me and look at my mom. As soon as I look at her in my werewolf form she drops her knives and starts to cry, which I was surprised she didn't already know about me like I did when I got caught in that trap. I for sure thought she already knew but obviously not.

I change back to me the normal me and I go to my mother and I could barely make out what she was saying with all of her sobbing all I heard was," Nova how is this possible, we are the hunters not the werewolves, but then again how could you know." I just look at her and tell her," Well mom how was I supposed to know about werewolves and hunters, and I didn't have a choice on getting bit. So don't get mad at me, shit you should have told me about this supernatural shit."

She just looks at me and out of no were she slaps me, I mean I did deserve it because of  how I just talked to her. I mean it wasn't her fault for me getting bit but she still could have told me about this supernatural shit, instead she lets me think that I am crazy for believing in it after all these years. Finally after about a couple minutes she stops crying and to my surprise Lucas was still in here in the room and he didn't seem afraid anymore. I tell my mom not to freak out about me or Lucas still being in the room. She just looks at me and tells me," You have some explaining Nova, and Lucas you stay here." I was wondering why she wanted Lucas to stay here to even though they were enemies.

So I start to explain on how I was a werewolf, I basically told her that the night Adrian and I went out to look for something fake that turned out to be real, and I dropped my glasses and then Lucas came up and bit me on the side. She got so pissed off at Lucas she almost attacked him but I stopped her before she had a chance to pull out one of her knives. I tell her that Lucas had a reason on why he bit me. So Lucas began to explain to my mom that he needed a new pack since she killed them all but as soon as that came out of Lucas's mouth my mom stands up and says," None of our people killed your pack I didn't even know that they were dead." Lucas just stands there and says," If your people didn't kill them than who or what did." I just tell everyone that we will figure this out tomorrow because  I need to go asleep so I can get up and actually make it to school. So we all say our goodbyes and Lucas leaves out the front door which is something new for him and then my mom and I went to our rooms and went asleep. With all of this stuff going on how can I go to sleep or concentrate on my school work from now on. I just lay there and think to myself how is this happening I wont be able to live like this great.  I finally doze off at probably midnight and I couldn't sleep well because of all of this stuff happening in my life.

I wake up to the sounds of thunder and rain. I get out of bed take a shower and I noticed that things seemed to be to normal after all this stuff that has been happening but hey I wasn't going to complain or talk to my mom about last night. I get dressed and I am ready to head out the Adrian was waiting in his truck since my car got taken away but before I could get out the door my mom starts to say something," Nova, I trust that you being a werewolf won't interfere with me being a hunter because this happened to your dad to and I had to.... well you know." I looked at her with a face of confusion," Mom it wont and no I don't know what you had to do, but I have to go. Bye love you." I closed the door with the thought of what my mom was talking about what she had to do with my dad. I mean I had one thought but that couldn't be possible, my mom couldn't have killed my dad. I quickly shook that thought out of my head and apparently I zoned out and was just standing in the rain and I haven't even made my way to Adrian's truck yet. So I get in his truck and he wasn't a werewolf but he could tell that something was up with me.
