The Unexpected

Chapter Six

I just looked at my mom waiting for her to answer but Andrea kept knocking on the door so I had to answer the door, but before I answered the do I told my mom, " We will finish this conversation later." For some reason I had thought my mom would say no but I had a feeling that she might say yes but I quickly put that thought to the back of my head and open the door to see Andrea standing there. I invite her in and I tell her to go to my room were Adrian was and that I would be right there.

I just stare at my mom and shake my head and began to walk away but before I walked away she stopped me and whispered knowing I could hear," Nova I did what I had to do." I just walked away and I was just filled with so many emotions but the main emotion I felt was scared. I was scared of everything, my mother, my friends, and the fact that I am a fucking werewolf. I walked in the door to my room only to see Adrian on one side of the room and Andrea on the other side. I just ask," Do you guys just hate each other or what I mean every time you guys are alone you seem to be on opposite sides of the room?". They both look at me and roll their eyes but Adrian says," No, its just awkward I don't really know her." I just say," Well get to know each other talk for goodness sake." So I left the room but I had my ear tuned into their conversation. I went to the living room were I last saw my mother but she was gone. Of course she's gone she's always gone I thought to myself.

I just sit down and wait for Adrian's and Andrea's conversation but before they end their conversation I here Lucas outside but some how he still scared me when he knocked on the door. I go over to the door and I just let him in without asking why he was here. He looks at me and says," So I see you have your friends over. I guess I should leave." When he starts to leave I stop him and tell him," Please don't leave I need someone to talk to about all of this werewolf stuff. Plus my friends are getting to know each other." He just looks at me," Nova why not after all who better to tell you about this than the person who bit you." He smirked after saying it. " Well Nova you have to tell me a question you have for me to tell you about it." I just smile at him," Well Lucas I wont to know more about my heightened senses for example my sense of smell." Lucas just stares at me," Well you Nova you can smell blood, sickness, and how people are feeling and each emotion has a distinctive smell. They are really easy to tell apart so I will train you later but anymore questions?". I just looked at him with a blank stare because I didn't have anymore but I wanted him to stay. I guess sense he's my alpha I felt that I needed to be around him. I tell him," I don't have anymore questions but can you stay because Adrian and Andrea are still talking." He laughed but he told me that he had to go but he could smell some type of emotion that he didn't tell me what it was but it must have been sadness but I don't know.

So he leaves and I walk into my room and they just stared at me and both said in sync," It's about damn time you came back we were running out of things to talk about." I Tell them," Sorry I was talking to Lucas he's been checking in on me I guess he's just worried about me." I guess Adrian still hasn't caught up with me being able to hear when he whispers something because I heard him whisper we all are worrying about you. I ignore his comment and I ask him if they knew each other any better and they told me a little. So I tell them that it was great and I wanted to spend some alone time with each of them but it just wasn't possible because it seemed like ever time one of them is coming over the other one is already here or on their way to. So I tell them that they should go because it was three o'clock and I wanted to spend the rest of the day in bed to get ready for tomorrow which was the last day of school, which meant I would have so much more time to hangout and learn some of this werewolf stuff. So they both leave but I could tell that they knew that something was wrong with me.

 As soon as they left I flopped down on my bed just thinking about Lucas' old pack and start to get worried since my mother doesn't even know what killed them. I fall asleep and I wake up at about seven o'clock and I smell something good and I hear my mother so I walked out and went to the kitchen and she was cooking, I didn't know what it was but it smelt amazing. She turned around and asked me," Nova is everything fine?" I tell her that I just don't know what do anymore about Adrian, Andrea or Lucas. She tells me to sit down and that we would talk about it during dinner. We finish eating and talking about everything and I help her clean up the dishes and it was about nine o'clock and I asked her if I had to go to school tomorrow since it was the last day and she said that she didn't care, which meant I could stay up later.  Before she went to bed I asked her again," Mom would you have killed me if I couldn't control myself." I listen to her heart and it began to speed up but as soon as she started to tell me," Nova I could never kill you. I love you." but her heart slowed down as she said it which meant she was telling the truth. I give her a hug goodnight and we both go to our rooms. I call up Lucas and asked him if we could hang because I wanted to get to know him more since he was my alpha and he said he was out trying to figure out what killed his pack and he didn't want me to go out and help him. Of course I wasn't about to let him be out there alone looking for what killed his own pack, so I start to head out but I decided that I should call Adrian and Andrea that I wasn't going to be at school tomorrow.
