The Unexpected

Chapter Four

How was this even possible, how could my mother be a hunter. What am I going to do, before I said anything she yells at me," Nova why the hell was you not at school today; is there anything that I need to know." I just look at her and say," Nomam, I just woke up to late and I couldn't get to school on time so I just decided to come back home." She looks at me like she knew I was lying and that she knew that I was a werewolf. We just stared at each other and finally she walks out and slams my door. I immediately text Adrian and tell him to come over. As soon as I get done texting Adrian I get a call from Andrea.

She sounds worried as soon as I answer the phone she ask me," Where were you today you had me worried." I tell her that I didn't wake up and that everything was fine and she ask me if she could come over. I tell her that she could but Adrian would be over if that was fine. She didn't seem to care so she was still coming no matter what. I just fall over onto my bed and think to myself, well great I can't talk to Adrian about what's going on with my mom and the only thing that could make it worse was if Lucas showed up. The doorbell rung so I went to the door and there was Adrian and Andrea standing there in silence. I invite them in and tell them to go to my room and of course when we get to the room there was Lucas standing there in the middle of my room and covered in blood from a wound he had on his arm from a knife that was still stuck inside of him. He was to weak to pull it out himself.

Andrea starts to freak out because of all of the blood and ask asked me who he was. I had to tell her that I would explain in a minute but she refused and wanted to know now. I ignore her and continue to ask Lucas what happened, he told me," I was running around to get some exercise and a hunter threw a knife at me and the only person that I could get to help was you, Nova take the knife out of my arm." I looked at him and then looked at Adrian and Andrea and told them to get out while I did this. They listened and went out but I could hear their hearts racing from outside the door. I start to pull the knife out of Lucas's arm and he starts to howl because of the amount of pain he was in. I quickly stop so he would stop howling, so no one would suspect anything. We figured out something to stop him from howling, we had to give him pain some where else. After we figured that out I start to pull it out and then one yank the knife is out of his arm. As soon as the knife is out he starts to heal at a slow rate but he was already healing.

I let Adrian and Andrea back into my room and Andrea is still freaking out and insisting that explain what is going on. So I look at Lucas and ask him if I can tell her the truth. Lucas tells me," If you can trust her than yea, but don't tell her if you think that she would tell someone or try to hunt you." I tell Lucas," Of course I can trust her and I doubt she is the hunter because she doesn't look like the hunter from the other night." I began to explain to Andrea that Lucas is a werewolf and the other night me and Adrian was in the woods, and Lucas came up out of no were and bite me on the side and now I am a werewolf. She looks at me and say," You are lying this stuff isn't real." I tell her," That's what I thought Andrea but its real look at Lucas's arm were the knife was its already healed and now look at our eyes." She freaks out and looks at us and she turns to Adrian and ask him," Adrian did you know about this." All Adrian did was shake his head yes.

It starts to get late so I tell Andrea and Adrian that they need to go back home because we have school tomorrow. Andrea didn't want to leave because she thought that something would happen to me but I told her don't worry. So now that Andrea and Adrian are gone it's just Lucas and me in my room talking about the hunters. I tell him that the hunter I saw the night of the full moon looked exactly like my mom. Lucas just stared at me in shock and ask me what my last name. I ask him," Why do you want to know my last name?" He tells me," The reason why is because there is a family of hunters and hopefully your family is not the hunters." So I tell him," Ok my last name is Kohl." I look at Lucas and he looks shocked he says," Nova your family is the hunters that have been after us, shit this isn't good." I just look at him," How is this possible when was my mom going to tell me this." She is going to end up finding out about me about, why is this happening to me. As soon as I go to tell Lucas he should leave before my mom got home but as soon as I said that my mom came to my door and said," Well hey Lucas why are you here?" Before I could do anything Lucas is already changed and my mom has two knives ready to attack. What can I do to stop this? I have to help Lucas but I can't hurt my mother.
