Hi there, this is kind of important so please read: The way that I planned this story out is having the first five chapters being very plot-oriented and the next five chapters be fluff and stuff and the next five chapters after that be plot-oriented and so on and so forth until I feel like bringing it to a close. So I hope you enjoy, if you do, let me know :] Or not. It's cool.

ALSO I almost forgot to tell you. This is a universe alteration. It includes Assassins' Creed, but I made it so you don't have to play Assassins' Creed in order to understand the plot of it. It mostly has to do with my OC's character background and stuff.

EDIT: As of September 6th, 2013, I have posted the first five chapters of this story which I have worked on for several days. They were supposed to be out earlier in the week but school started and blah blah blah. So, yes, these plot-oriented chapters will take more time to write but I am now in the process of writing the fluff and stuff (you can actually just skip to that if you want, it won't be totally related to the plot stuff and I'll include a character arc).

This was a really long A/N. I am very sorry.

Pacing outside Commander Irvin's office, I finally just burst in. I was never one to be scared, and now was not the time to be questioning myself. I lowered my beaked hood, revealing my face and my orange hair. My eyes came in contact with Commander Irvin's. I then glanced over at Levi who looked slightly surprised by presence.

"What are you doing here?" Levi asked.

"I heard the Scouting Legion is on the seach for some people. I'd like to offer my services."

"Right," Commander Irvin said incredulously, "because Assassins are so willing to help mankind."

I swallowed hard. Of course this wasn't going to be easy. But I had to show them that they can trust me. I'm not one of them. Commander Irvin was about order soldiers to escort me out but Levi stopped him and a lady with brown hair and glasses spoke.

"My name is Hanji Zoe," she introduced herself, "and I would like to know if you have any information before we dismiss you." Commander Irvin began to protest but quieted down as I began to explain.

My name is G. Baringer of the Wall Sina Brotherhood of Assassins. I'm a Second Rank Assassin, despite only being fifteen. As an Assassin, I believe in peace and fight for the protection of mankind's free will. But unlike those whom I associate myself with, I believe the elimination of men is futile in the world we live in today. The elimination of Titans, from a non-subjective viewpoint is equally as useless. There is a bigger picture to all  of this. You say these men with ability to transform into the Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan are the enemy, but there's much more to it than that. And what lies in the basement of Eren Jaeger? "That information is not discloable until you give me this job."

"You're in!" Hanji cheered.

"Not so fast!" Commander Irvin interrupted, "There's still more that has to be discussed, like training, skills set, and proving to me that you can commit to the Scouting Legion."

"She's in the eleventh Assassin rank," Levi told Commander Irvin.

"And?" Irvin said, unimpressed.

"Seeing as she's only Eren's age, she's sailed through training." Levi said is usual dreary, almost emotionless way, "In terms of skill, she's quite valuable. She could probably take on ten to fifteen Titans by herself, five with her eyes closed, and two with one arm behind her back. With that stamina, she could fight for days."

It was very out of character for Levi to speak so highly of anyone, let alone me.

"Anything else?" Irvin asked.

Levi looked directly at me. "I trust her."

The room fell silent for a moment. Levi... trusts me? I didn't even know him that well, I only met him through Petra when she and I were very young.

Irvin turned back toward me and said, "If you are unable to do this, then you are dismissed. You have one last opportunity to prove your worth."

Without even think about it, I clenched a fist and held it over my heart and I got on my soapbox, "I am aware of the hypocrisies of my brothers. We seek peace, yet we commit murder. We seek to open the minds of men, but require obedience to rules. We seek to reveal the danger of blind faith, yet we practice it ourselves! But I am no hypocrite, Commander! I will not follow blindly. The only rules I will comply to are the ones I set for myself. And the origin of discourse does not lie within the society of mankind.

"When I was inducted into the Brotherhood, I swore the three tenets of the Assassins' Creed. I now swear to you my allegiance, as well. I will stay my blade from the flesh of the innocent. I will stand proudly as a soldier. I will never compromise your intentions as the Commander of the Scouting Legion or any of my superiors. That is a promise!"

The three of them stayed silent for a while, as I stood in front of them with my fist over my heart. It wasn't a stance I was comfortable with yet. As the silence dragged on and my three superiors shot glances at each other, I prepared myself for rejection. If I didn't get this job, I didn't know what else I could do. All I wanted was to help.

"Well, Ms. Baringer, we have come to a decision." Commander Irvin's voice burst through my thoughts. He turned to Hanji and said, "Get her a uniform and give her the background information on the mission. You know how to use the Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear?"

"Yes, sir. No additional training is needed."

"Good. Now here's your official warning: One step out of line, and your through. Understand?"

"Yes, sir."

I exited the room, following Hanji. We went down a few hallways and she handed me a Scouting Legion Uniform and assigned me my own set of 3DGM. She persisted with small talk (which I was completely inexperienced with) and some jokes which I pretended to laugh at although I didn't understand them much. She led me to the room I'd be sleeping in regularly between missions.

"Well, here we are," Hanji said, opening the door for me, "The boys' room is next door, by the way. And listen, I'm sorry but I don't have the time to give you the low-down on the mission so after you get dressed, go down that hallway, take a right, and go though the first door on the left, and you'll find some people to fill you in. See ya!" She left, closing the door. Then it was just me and a silent, empty room.

All the beds were lined up against the wall to the left and there was a black trunk in front of each bed. I took the bed at the very end, against the back wall where the window was, seeing as it was the only one with a trunk that didn't have a lock on it. I set down all of the stuff Hanji gave me on the bed and started taking off my white Assassin robes. I put my swords and throwing knives in the trunk.

I hoped Petra and Quentin would be proud of me. I couldn't help but feel actual physical pain at the thought of them.

After I adjusted my body belt on over my black skin-tight shirt, I put my hoodscarf back on. I may as well retain some of my identity while I'm off going about doing soldier-y things. I left the hood down, though. I also put on my hidden blades. I just didn't feel like myself without them. Tugging the sleeves of my tan jacket over them, I went to where Hanji had directed me.
