Tremble

I put my hood on after swinging myself up onto my horse. Not the green hood of my Scouting Legion uniform, but my hood. In my peripherals I could see Jean rolling his eyes at me but I decided to ignore it. I was nervous enough, which was not a familiar feeling.

The plan was split into three small groups, one led by Irvin, one by Levi, and one by Hanji. Armin, Jean, and I were with Levi, along with a few other soldiers. We'd be exiting through the gate of the Chlorba District and heading into the forest which Reiner and Bertholdt were most likely using to travel. We left a six in the morning, seeing as there was large amount of ground to cover. No doubt, we were definitely going to run into Titans and that's what made me nervous.

What was it like to kill a Titan? One would think it would be easier to kill a Titan than a human, because humans and Titans have no innate emotional connections. They lack intelligence and they quite possibly don't even understand the concept of death. Something like that is much harder to exterminate. Humans are so predictable because of their intelligence.

"G," Armin trotted up next me.

"Hm? You look exhausted," I commented on his groggy appearance.

"Yeah, I stayed up the past couple nights, studying."

"For a smart kid, that wasn't a very wise decision."

"I know, but I had to figure out what legends were talking about," he grew more serious, "G, do you really think Reiner and Bertholdt..."

"It seems so," I answered, "what do you think?"

"I think they're being controlled."

"Everything is uncertain for now."

"G..." He whispered, "This is insane."

"I know... That's why we have to leave for now... Just until we get our hands on Reiner and Bertholdt." I galloped ahead and came up next to Levi, wanting to end that conversation with Armin for the time being. We already about twenty feet outside Wall Rose.

Levi glanced over at me. "Are you okay?"

"Truthfully, no."

"What are you worried about?"

"You said I could kill ten to fifteen Titans but I've never done it before."

.

"You'll be fine," he said but his face wasn't very convincing. His face never showed anything.

"Tell me about them. What are they like? To kill, I mean."

"Disgusting. You get their blood all over you and it burns. Just filthy." I forgot Levi was part housemaid.

"This a really out of character thing to say," I began, "but have you guys ever tried to, I don't know, poison them? Gasing the little suckers probably wouldn't work because they don't have to breathe, right? But what about developing some kind of virus? You could plague them."

He raised an eyebrow at me, not saying anything.

"I guess it doesn't matter though," I said after a thorough silence, "if I'm right about what's in that basement, we won't have to find a way plague them."

"You think a Piece of Eden is in Eren's basement."

I nearly fell off my horse.

"Hey! Careful up there!" Jean called from behind. I gripped tighter into the reigns.

"Well?"" Levi asked.

"H-how do you know about that?"

"Quentin told me. And I'm not an idiot."
