I think it's time to see how Edward is doing. Anyone still team Edward in this story? What team are you on? Above is a picture of the wolves and the music is Treaty by Carter Burwell. Thought it was appropriate for this chapter. Enjoy!
Chapter Twelve
Edwards POV
Recap;
Emmett had to drive home since I was in a catatonic state. My eyes turned black with hunger but I couldn't feel the thirst that was surely burning my throat. Instead of hunting I just sat staring out the windows. Esme tried talking to me, to get me out of the house, but I refused to even speak to anyone.
I left Bella so she could have a long happy life with someone who has a heartbeat. I left so I wouldn't have to suffer long term. At some point I would snap out of this state and move on but right now I could hardly see the end of this pain.
Why would I think Bella would stay in Spokane? Of course she'd move on but not until graduation at least. Now she just mysteriously disappears.
I just wanted to know if she was safe. I needed to know where she was.
"Your not good enough for her." Alice's thoughts drifted up through the floor boards and into my mind. I tried to ignore her but her thought struck true.
At one point I called her cell phone but the number had been disconnected. Panicked flared inside of me. What if she were dead? Alice couldn't see her because she was a Shifter and that made me think of someone else Alice couldn't see.
Downstairs I heard Alice gasp. Our futures just disappeared.

The seven of us stood on the boundary line, waiting to hear something. I strained my gift as far as possible.
"Their not very good protectors are they? Aren't they supposed to run along here every now and then?" Rose complained.
"We're immortal Rose, a few hours won't change anything." Jasper drawled. He was on high alert, eyes searching the forest, body tense and hovering over Alice. She was searching the future to see what was going to happen but all she got was frustration.
Several minutes passed before Alice spoke up. "There coming."
We could all hear their pounding heartbeats draw closer, reminding me that I hadn't hunted in a while. Venom filled my mouth but I swallowed it back.
Carlisle was at the spear point of our family, ready to intercept them. I was close behind him with the rest of them spread out evenly behind me for mass protection.
Five wolves appeared from the brush, growling but not advancing. Only no-mans-land separated us now. This could break into a fight at any time so we had to proceed carefully.
"There wondering why were here." I translated for my family.
Carlisle took a breath before starting. "Isabella is missing and we were wondering if you know where she might have gone?"
Sam, the leader, turned to look at his companions. Their thoughts were all intermingled together and yet had separate thoughts at the same time. It was very confusing but I was able to pick out a few things. Something about a camp? Images of Bella came up. A letter she wrote to Jacob. Patrol patterns and various people speaking to one another from past experiences.
