Chapter 10
I noticed we were right on time, it was exactly 1pm. I said bismillah and got out while Sadiq bhai took Bilal out and in his arms. We walked into the cafe since I don't know how Zaid looks, I looked at Sadiq bhai since he had met Zaid before.
"There he is" Sadiq bhai pointed towards a guy who was waving at us.
I was shocked to see him here. It is the same Zaid from high school, Ya Allah what a twist of fate.
"That's Zaid?" I questioned Sadiq bhai as we started walking toward the table
"Yup, that's Zaid" He replied
"Asalamwalakum" Zaid greeted
"Walaikumsalam" we all greeted I watched as Zaid and Sadiq bhai did those manly hugs. Bilal was looking at Zaid trying to figure out who he is but when he couldn't, he stretched his hands towards me indicating that he wants me to take him.
"Oh yaar stop struggling I am giving you to your Api" Sadiq bhai groans at Bilal as Bilal tries to come to me "Here Inayah take him, umm you guys sit here I will be sit right there and remember I have my eyes on you guys" Sadiq bhai warns giving us a stern look, like I would do anything
I just roll my eyes at him. Sadiq bhai walks and sits at the table.
"Ummmm please take a seat" Zaid says looking at me
"Jazakallah" I tell him and take a sit with Bilal on my lap
"Wa iyakum" he replies to my Jazakallah, which sort of shocked me since people either say "you're welcome" or don't say anything but I composed myself
"Asalamwalakum Bilal you want to come sit by me?" Zaid asked Bilal, I was shocked to see Bilal getting up from the lap and going next to siit by Bilal. Bilal was a shy kid and wouldn't leave me at all.
"Bilal, what do you say when someone says salam?" I questioned Bilal
"Waa..wa..lekumshalam" he tells Zaid smiling and Zaid ruffles Bilal's hairs
I smiling looking at them from the corner of my eyes I see Sadiq bhai ordering something for himself.
"What would you like to eat?" Zaid askes bring my attention back on them and I see a waiter waiting for my reply
" I'll take a cappuccino and a cake slice for Bilal" I say
" I'll take a cappuccino as well" Zaid orders as well. The waiter leaves saying it will be ready in about 15 minutes
" Ummm Abbu told me you wanted to talk to me?" Zaid says looking at me
"Yeah I wanted to talk about this whole proposal." I tell him
"Ask away" He smiles looking at Bilal who was busy coloring the spiderman image the waiter had given Bilal
"As you know about my parents death" I whisper so Bilal doesn't hear me, Zaid nods at me to continue "...I might sound demanding or my questions might be straight forward but I don't want to bet around the bush so I apologize in advance" I tell him
