Chapter 11
The next day after breakfast I called everyone in the hall to tell my decision. I knew they were impatient but I had to wait till Tayabu and Phupujaan had come over. After an hour when they came over Tayabu patiently looked at me and asked "Beta, I want you to know what ever your decision is we all will support you, right?" He asked looking at everyone and there were a series of "Yes"
"Beta so what is your decision?" Phupu asked setting next to me. I look around to see everyone looking at me to answer.
"Yes" I whispered I doubt anyone heard but Phupu heard since she was next to me and jumped up and hugged me seeing her action I guess everyone understood and got up to hug me
"We are happy for you" Tayabu said placing a kiss on my forehead and hugging me
"Oh ho humari chote behen baari hogayi" (Our little sister is old now) Sadiq bhai teased hugging me and I give a small smile.
"Beta, Zaid's family called us over at 7pm we will have our dinner there. Okay?" Tayabu asked and I nod
"Phupu, can I talk to you in your room?" I ask Phupu to which she nods and we walk over to her room. Phupa(Phupu's husband) was on a business trip for a week and will be coming back tomorrow insha'allah.
"Yes beta, what do you want to talk to me about?" She questions as we take a seat on her bed
"Phupu, I haven't told the kids yet. How should I tell them?" I tell her my problem since I had no clue what to tell them
"Beta, just tell Sara since she is old enough to understand and if she has questions answer them for her." Phupu says with a smile and I nod, I had to tell her something else but I don't know if I should.
"Inayah? I know you have to tell me something else as well so tell me" Phupu says shocking me, how did she know? "...I am your mother as well so don't wonder how I know" she answers my untold question to which I smile
"Phupu, if insha'allah everything goes as plan I wanted the wedding to be a simple one, not too many functions. We can do the mehndi and the haldi party but let's not invite too many people, just Tayabu's family, Phupujaan's family and your family. Please?" I request her
"But Inayah, your Ammi Abbu wanted to do your wedding grand"
"The simplest nikah is the blessed one" I say and I am sure I convinced her since she smiles
"Okay baba, but the mehndi and haldi will be here" Phupu informs to which I nod
"And Phupu, you guys will not pay for anything" I inform her but before she says anything I continue "...I have some money that Abbu had left in my account so please" I request
"I am sorry beta, but no, save that money. Me, Your tayabu and Phupujaan will handle everything. Understood?" She says sternly and I nod since I know I can't win over her. I give her a hug and she hugs me back saying "everything will work out insha'allah"
"Hey Sara?"
"Ji, Api?"
"Let's go in the room, I want to tell you something" I tell her moving towards the guest room with her following behind.
"What do you want to say, Api?" Sara asks with her eyebrow raised up
"Sara, Insha'Allah I am getting married and we are visiting the boy's family today" I tell her and see her face fall "...Sara, Ammi and Abbu had chosen this guy for me and after a lot of thinking I said Yes"
"Ammi and Abbu chose him? What do you mean, Api?" Sara questions me with a confused look. So I tell her everything Tayabu said to me. And after that silence fills the room.
"So, you too are going to leave us alone?!" Sara says breaking the silence and looking at me with unshed tears in her eyes
"No! nahi I am not leaving you guys. Yesterday remember I went out with Sadiq bhai and Bilal? I had gone to met him and talked to him about all this and he assured me that nothing will change and if we do get married, he will come live with us. Insha'Allah" I say wiping the tears that slipped from her eyes
"So you won't leave right?" She asks me again and I nod and pull her in for a hug
"Are you okay with this Sara?" I question her
"Are you kidding me? I am more than happy, you are settling down. I was just worried you will leave us" She answers
"We are going tonight to met his family. They invited us for dinner." I inform her
"What's his name?" She asks with a smirk
"Zaid Ahmed" I answer and feel hot all of a sudden. Why am I feeling hot all of a sudden?
She asks me some more question about him but I myself don't know much. So I tell her everything I know and we talk till lunch time. After lunch we all hung around and talked with each other. At 5pm we started getting ready to go to Zaid's place since it will take 1 hour to get ready and his house is 15 minutes away from my apartment we decided to leave at 6pm.
"Api you look beautiful" Mahira says looking at me. Me and my siblings were getting ready in the guest room. I was wearing a blue and red anarkali dress with a blue hijab. I had done a light makeup look.
"Jazakallah khair Mahira, you all look wonderful too" I say looking at my siblings who were all wearing Indian clothes Dress:
"Wa iyakum" Mahira said
"Are you guys ready?" Phupu asked coming inside and looking at us
"Yes we are ready, let's go" I say picking Bilal up and carrying him following Phupu out. Phupu tells me that we are taking 3 cars because everyone is going together from Phupu's place. I was driving one car while Muqtadar bhai in his van and Muzzamil bhai another one so all of us can have a comfortable ride. We were going back to our apartment today so Sadiq bhai had kept our belongings inside my car. Insha'Allah everything goes well....with that though we were off
