Chapter 7

Soon it was time for maghrib, Tayabu and every other male in the house left for the masjid with Bilal. I was a bit hesitant because I know how naughty Bilal can get but Sadiq bhai said he will handle him. I hope he does. All us ladies read in the hall together. Before the men came back we had set the table for dinner. It felt like forever since I ate food made by someone else. After then men came back we all sat in the dining room to eat.

Dining Room

"Inayah?" Phupu called out for me

"Ji, phupu"

"Come sit by me, it's been so long since I fed my daughter, Sadiq will feed Bilal today" Phupu says

I look at Sadiq bhai to make sure it is okay with him and he smiles nodding me to go

I sit next to Phupu and she starts feeding me.

"Ammi you never feed me but you feed Inayah" Sadiq bhai complains

"She loves me more so shut up" I tell him sticking my tongue out

"Ewwww Bilal look at your Api she is so disgusting" Sadiq bhai tells Bilal

Bilal copies Sadiq bhai and says "Ewwwww Api"

Which makes everyone at the table laugh

~Flashback~

Phupu was feeding me while Sadiq bhai was complaining how Phupu never feeds him. To quiet him down my Ammi calls Sadiq bhai

"Leave them Sadiq, come here I will feed you" Ammi says

"Seeeeee Inayah, Mami (Mom's brother's wife) loves me more than you"

I gasp and say "You are my Ammi not his!" And Sadiq bhai replies saying "She is my Mami! Not yours"

"FIne! I have my phupu!" I stick my tongue out

"Fine! I have my Mami!" Sadiq bhai copies me and sticks his tongue out

Everyone starts laughing hearing our banter

*Flashback End*

The saying "People go and memories stay behind" is so true. Ammi and Abbu left but they left behind so many amazing memories.
