An Unexpected Turn Of Events (Loki Fanfiction)

Chapter 1

*Kaydens POV*

"Kayden! Get your ass up. You're late for work."
"Just a minute mom.." I turned around once more, so I could take a look at the time. Letting out a deep sigh, I decided to get up. The big boss already threatens to fire me, so the last thing I wanted was being late. I got dressed and went downstairs.

"Morning mom" "Morning. I got your lunch ready. Breakfast's ready as well" "Thanks". I sat down and quickly finished breakfast so I wouldn't miss the bus. "See you tonight" "good luck at work dear"

The ride to work was as boring as ever, I suppose seeing the same streets and buildings nearly every day simply gets boring after a while.
I could see Stark Tower appearing, knowing that meant I had to get up so I could get off the bus. I worked at a coffeehouse in the same street as Stark Tower. Whenever I had nothing to do at work, I'd look out the window and imagined it was my building with my name on it. Not that it would be special or something, my surname is as common as it gets; Smith..

I walked into the coffeehouse and greeted the few colleagues I had to work with today.
Emily, a blonde girl, who lived about 4 streets away from me.
Michelle, our bitchy brunette. No one really liked her, but she did her job well, so we don't really want her gone either.
And last but not least, Jason. I always had a huge crush on him, which he knew about, but he has a girlfriend and is as straight as you can be. He doesn't really mind me liking him though, we had a good conversation about it once, and we're great friends as well.

Just when I let out a sigh, wondering how bored I'd be today, Emily let out a gasp and told us to look at the sky above the Tower. As I looked up, I could see a huge hole in the clear blue sky, with stars shining true. There were creatures coming through the hole, and I could see the one and only Iron Man flying among them, trying to turn as many of them to ashes as he could. "What the hell?" Jason walked outside even though Michelle tried to stop him. In the blink of an eye, one of the creatures shot some kind of laser beam straight at the coffeehouse, throwing Jason against the wall and causing us to fly backwards. Right before I passed out, I could see Emily slam into the counter with her head.
