*Jason's POV*
I sat against the wall, looking at the streets. It was quiet outside, no more screams, no more shooting or explosions, just silence. Honestly, the silence scared me more than the shooting did earlier today. I didn't know why, I guess it's just one of those feelings you get, you know, when you know that something's gonna happen.
I saw something walking down the street. I heard cries coming from the person, so I woke up Kayden.
"There's someone outside Kay. I'm gonna take a quick look alright?" "Yeah okay. Be careful though."
I nodded and walked to the front. Judging by the curves, it was a woman. Apparently I startled her, 'cause she suddenly turned and looked straight at me. She had a huge cut across her cheek, and her shirt was covered in blood. "Hey. It's alright. We won't hurt you. Do you want to come inside?"
The woman nodded and stepped inside. She seemed a bit calmer, but you could tell she was still scared. I took her to the kitchen and looked for something I could use to clean her face. I decided a towel would work just fine and tried to get as much blood off of her face as I could, so I could take a better look at the cut.
"They sure as hell hit you well huh"
"I'm sorry. I don't want to be a burden." She whispered.
"It's fine. What's your name?" Kayden said. 'He was still awake?' I thought.
"Jenny. I'm Jenny." "Alright Jenny. I'm going to try to clean the cut itself, so this could hurt a bit okay. Just tell me if you want a break."

After a while the cut was finally cleaned, and Kayden put a huge bandage on it. Jenny saw a reflection of herself and started to laugh. I had to admit, it did look ridiculous. We all ended up laughing, which was quite a relief. Eventually, everyone fell asleep again, forgetting about everything that happened today for a while.

*Kayden's POV*

A few hours later.

I woke up, looking around. Everyone was still asleep, so I decided I'd quietly get myself some water. Everyone deserved all the rest they could get, it's been one hell of a day.

Before I reached the sink, I could hear sounds coming from outside.
'That doesn't sound like humans..' I thought.
"Jason. Wake up." I shook him a bit.
"The hell Kayden.. what is it?" "They're outside. What do we do?"
Jason thought for awhile. "Wake them up. We're going to the basement."

It took a couple of minutes before Jenny and Emily realised they were supposed to wake up, but we reached the basement soon enough.

The sounds got louder, it was as if they were growling at eachother. We heard them open the kitchen door, hoping they'd be too stupid to check the basement.
After some disappointed and/or angry growls, we could hear them walk away again. We waited for about 10 minutes before we left the basement, cautiously looking around before entering the kitchen again.
"I think they're gone." Jason said. I just nodded. "Lets hope they'll stay away now. Don't think they came to play a game of Jenga." Jenny said.
Jason and I turned around, facing her, both a bit surprised by her remark. Jason snorted, and walked back to the wall we used as a bed. "I don't know about you, but I'd love to get more sleep. Night guys."

We all agreed with him, and rested our heads against the wall again. Soon I dozed off again, hoping the aliens wouldn't check the building again.
